Bengals G Cody Ford signs 1-year contract

Cincinnati Bengals guard Cody Ford signed a one-year contract on Saturday.

Financial terms were not disclosed for Ford, who was scheduled to become a free agent on Wednesday.

Ford, 27, played in all 17 games (one start) last season, however he played on just 79 snaps on offense and 72 on special teams.

He recovered two fumbles while competing in 66 games (33 starts) with the Buffalo Bills (2019-21), Arizona Cardinals (2022) and Bengals. He was selected by Buffalo with a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Bills WR Gabriel Davis, OL Cody Ford added to COVID list

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabriel Davis and offensive lineman Cody Ford were added to the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.

Per ESPN, Davis is unvaccinated and will sit out Sunday’s key AFC East game against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass. He would be the second Bills wideout to miss the contest for that reason, as Cole Beasley was placed on the list on Tuesday.

Special teams coordinator Heath Farwell and defensive line coach Eric Washington also were added to the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Beasley, outspoken against the NFL’s vaccine mandate, is second to Stefon Diggs on the team in both catches (76) and receiving yards (640). Beasley has just one touchdown reception, however.

Davis, 22, has six touchdowns among 29 catches and is averaging a team-leading 16.2 yards per reception this season.

Fellow wideout Emmanuel Sanders practiced fully on Thursday in his bid to return to the team. He missed last week’s game with a knee injury.

Ford, 24, has started 29 of the 36 games in which he has played in his career, including seven of 13 this season.

Bills G Ford out for season; WR Brown out vs. Chargers

Buffalo Bills left guard Cody Ford will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn meniscus, coach Sean McDermott announced Friday morning on WGR 550.

Per McDermott, Ford was injured during practice this week. He was listed as limited due to an ankle injury on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Ike Boettger, 26, started in place of Ford in Buffalo’s 32-30 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 15.

Ford, 23, has started all seven games in which he has played this season and 22 of 23 career contests with the Bills (7-3).

McDermott also ruled out wide receiver John Brown for this Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers (3-7) in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Brown, who is nursing an ankle injury, has 29 receptions for 386 yards and two touchdowns in eight contests this season.
