Bills CB Rasul Douglas ruled out vs. Lions

The Buffalo Bills’ secondary could be taking quite a hit prior to the team’s game against the host Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Friday that starting cornerback Rasul Douglas has been ruled out for the game against the Lions (12-1). Douglas, 29, did not participate in practice this week due to a knee injury.

In addition, starting safeties Taylor Rapp (neck, shoulder) and Damar Hamlin (back, ribs) will be listed as questionable despite being expected to practice in some capacity on Friday for Buffalo (10-3).

Per McDermott, tight ends Dalton Kincaid (knee) and Quintin Morris (shoulder, groin), offensive tackle Tylan Grable (groin) and defensive ends Dawuane Smoot (wrist) and Casey Toohill (ribs) also will be listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman (wrist) will not carry an injury designation and is set to play on Sunday for the Bills, per McDermott.

Bills’ Dalton Kincaid out, Amari Cooper questionable vs. Chiefs

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid has been ruled out for Sunday’s showdown with the visiting Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury.

Bills coach Sean McDermott also announced on WGR 550 Friday that wide receiver Amari Cooper (wrist) and right tackle Spencer Brown (ankle) will be listed as questionable.

Kincaid sustained an ankle injury in Buffalo’s 30-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday.

Dawson Knox and Quintin Morris will see additional playing time in place of Kincaid, who has recorded 34 catches for 356 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games (seven starts) this season.

Kincaid, 25, has 107 receptions for 1,029 yards and four TDs in 26 career games since being selected by the Bills with the 23rd overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Cooper, 30, has missed the team’s last two games since injuring his wrist in Buffalo’s 31-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 27.

The five-time Pro Bowl wideout has 29 catches for 319 yards and three touchdowns in eight games (seven starts) split between the Cleveland Browns and Bills this season.

Brown, 27, has started all 10 games in which he has played this season for Buffalo.

Bills TE Dawson Knox (wrist) ruled out vs. Bucs

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox has been ruled out of Thursday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coach Sean McDermott announced.

McDermott said Wednesday in an interview on WGR 550 that Knox had wrist surgery, although an updated timeline on his return to action has yet to be revealed.

The Bills (4-3) also ruled out tight end Quintin Morris (ankle) for Thursday’s game versus the visiting Bucs (3-3) in Orchard Park, N.Y. That leaves rookie Dalton Kincaid as the only available tight end currently on Buffalo’s 53-man roster.

Knox, 26, injured his wrist in Week 5 in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He was a limited participant in practice all week leading up to Week 6 but was cleared to play and caught three passes for 17 yards in the 14-9 win over the New York Giants.

Kincaid, a first-round pick, had a team-high eight receptions for 75 yards last week in a 29-25 loss to the New England Patriots.

Kincaid, 24, is second on the team in receptions, catching 25 of his 27 targets.

Knox had one reception for 10 yards in Sunday’s loss at New England and has 15 catches for 102 yards and one touchdown through Buffalo’s first seven games this season.

McDermott also ruled out linebacker Baylon Spector (hamstring) for Thursday’s game.

The Bills will release a full injury report later on Wednesday.

Kincaid, 23, led Utah this past season with 70 receptions for 890 yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games. The Las Vegas native had 16 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown in a 43-42 victory over Southern California on Oct. 15.
