Bears sign ex-Titans S Dane Cruikshank

The Chicago Bears signed safety Dane Cruikshank to a one-year contract Thursday.

The 26-year-old Cruikshank spent the past four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He appeared in 44 games (four starts), recording 65 tackles, two passes defended and one interception.

Cruikshank provides the Bears with depth in the secondary as well as special-teams experience. He had 18 special-teams tackles from 2018-19, which ranked second on the Titans during that time.

Tennessee drafted Cruikshank in the fifth round (No. 152 overall) out of Arizona in 2018.

Titans WR Julio Jones designated to return from IR

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones was designated to return from injured reserve on Monday.

He was not alone, as safety Dane Cruikshank and wide receiver Racey McMath also received the same designation from the Titans (8-4).

The designations open a 21-day window for all three players to be activated to the 53-man roster.

Jones, who was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 13 with an ailing hamstring, has struggled to stay healthy in his first season with the Titans. He sat out three games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury.

Jones, 32, has 21 receptions for 336 yards and no touchdowns in six games this season. The seven-time Pro Bowler was acquired from Atlanta in the offseason after playing 10 seasons for the Falcons.

Cruikshank, who was placed on IR on Nov. 13 with a knee injury, has recorded 32 tackles and one forced fumble in nine games.

McMath, 22, played sparingly in four games before sustaining a quadriceps injury. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 8.
