Broncos LT Garett Bolles agrees to 4-year extension

Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles has agreed to a four-year contract extension, the veteran announced Thursday.

Bolles, 32, divulged the deal with a post on social media, including the hashtags “BroncoForLife” and “4More.”

“Broncos Country, it’s been a great 8 years. Thanks for everything! And … I’m not leaving. The show goes on!” he posted on X.

NFL Network reported the deal was for $82 million and included $42 million guaranteed, locking in the guardian of quarterback Bo Nix’s blind side.

A first-round pick (20th overall) by Denver in 2017, Bolles has started 13 games this season and all 112 of his games over the past eight seasons.

Bolles is in the final weeks of a four-year, $68 million extension he signed in November 2020. He was due to become a free agent after the season.

X-rays, MRI clean for Broncos LT Garett Bolles

X-rays and an MRI on Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles’ ankle came back negative and the team’s top lineman was diagnosed with a bruise, head coach Sean Payton said Monday.

Bolles left Sunday’s season opener in the second half and did not return. He was replaced at left tackle by Matt Peart.

Denver fell 26-20 on the road in the season opener after the Seattle Seahawks rallied for 17 second-half points.

Continuity on the offensive line is key with the Broncos turning to rookie quarterback Bo Nix this season. Nix was 26-of-42 passing with 138 yards against the Seahawks and threw two interceptions.

The Broncos are set to play their home opener Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit Denver.

The 20th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Broncos, Bolles played in and started his 100th career game Sunday.

Broncos LT Garett Bolles, CB Ronald Darby out for season

Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles and cornerback Ronald Darby sustained season-ending injuries in Thursday’s 12-9 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Bolles fractured his lower right leg late in the fourth quarter after Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner rolled up on him while tackling Broncos running back Mike Boone. Bolles was in tears while being carted off the field.

Bolles, 30, has started all 82 games in which he has played since being selected by Denver with the 20th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Darby, 28, sustained a torn ACL during the second quarter on Thursday.

He has 14 tackles, three pass deflections and one forced fumble in five games this season for the Broncos (2-3).

Darby has totaled 373 tackles and eight interceptions in 89 career games (88 starts) with the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders and Broncos.

Broncos activate LT Garett Bolles off COVID list

The Denver Broncos activated starting left tackle Garett Bolles off the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday and it’s expected he’ll be ready to play on Sunday.

Bolles, 29, has been on the COVID list since Nov. 22 and had missed time prior to that with an ankle injury. He hasn’t played since Week 8 against Washington.

The Broncos (6-5) are also hopeful that right tackle Bobby Massie will be back for the game against the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs (7-4) on Sunday night. Massie has been out since Week 9 with an ankle injury.

Bolles has been a stalwart on the offensive line for Denver, starting all 71 games he’s played in since being taken No. 20 overall in the 2017 draft. He had missed just one game in four seasons before 2021.

The Broncos also put offensive tackle Calvin Anderson on injured reserve. Anderson, who appeared in all 11 games (three starts) this season, left Denver’s Week 12 matchup in the first quarter after sustaining an ankle/knee injury.

Report: Broncos LT Garett Bolles (ankle) out Week 9

Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles will miss this week’s game after suffering a Grade 2 high ankle sprain, 9News reported Monday.

Officially, Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said Monday he didn’t yet have an update on Bolles’ MRI results.

An ironman on the Denver line, Bolles was injured in the fourth quarter of the Broncos’ win over Washington on Sunday. Bolles has missed just one game in five seasons since being selected No. 20 overall by the Broncos in the 2017 draft.

Calvin Anderson would start for Bolles if the latter is unable to play.

“I’m very confident in Calvin,” Fangio said. “I think Calvin’s a good offensive lineman and we’ll be able to operate with him in there. I have total confidence in Calvin.”

The Broncos are also awaiting MRI results on cornerback Bryce Callahan, who also left Sunday’s game, suffering a knee injury in the fourth quarter. He has 21 tackles in eight games (three starts) this season, his second in Denver.

The Broncos (4-4) host the Dallas Cowboys (6-1) this week.

Broncos’ Teddy Bridgewater (foot) questionable vs. Browns

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is considered questionable to play against the host Cleveland Browns after logging his third straight limited practice on Wednesday.

Bridgewater, 28, is dealing with a foot injury heading into Thursday’s game for the Broncos (3-3), who have dropped three in a row.

He sustained the injury during Sunday’s 34-24 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders; however, it’s unclear how or when it happened. He played the entire game, finishing with 334 yards on 35-of-49 passing. He threw three touchdowns but also three interceptions. He was sacked five times and hit 17 times in all.

Bridgewater has started every game this season, completing 70.2 percent of his passes for 1,514 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Offensive tackle Garett Bolles (knee) was listed as questionable to face the Browns (3-3) after turning in his second straight limited practice.

Safety Caden Sterns (illness) was also limited on Wednesday and is deemed questionable against Cleveland.

Linebackers Aaron Patrick (ankle) and Baron Browning (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday and have been ruled out versus the Browns.

Also on Wednesday, the Broncos promoted Tyrie Cleveland to the active roster from their practice squad and signed fellow wide receiver David Moore to the practice squad.
