Browns place G Wyatt Teller (knee) on IR

The Cleveland Browns placed Pro Bowl guard Wyatt Teller on injured reserve Wednesday.

The move will keep Teller off the field for at least the next four games for the Browns (1-2).

Teller sustained his knee injury during the third quarter of Cleveland’s 21-15 loss to the New York Giants last Sunday.

While head coach Kevin Stefanski initially informed reporters that Teller had been ruled out for this Sunday’s game against the host Las Vegas Raiders (1-2), he did not do the same for All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett (Achilles, thigh, feet).

Garrett, 28, has two sacks and two forced fumbles this season. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year and five-time Pro Bowl selection has 90.5 sacks for his career.

Teller, 29, has started 78 of 86 games he’s played in for the Browns and Buffalo Bills (2018), making three straight Pro Bowl appearances from 2021-23.

Also on Wednesday, the Browns signed tackle Germain Ifedi to the active roster from the practice squad.

Ifedi, 30, played in two games with Cleveland this season. He has started 83 of the 104 career games in which he played with four teams since being selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 31st overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Browns also signed tackles Sebastian Gutierrez and Ricky Lee III and defensive end Elerson Smith to the practice squad and released linebacker Luiji Vilain from the practice squad.

Falcons land OL Germain Ifedi on 1-year deal

The Atlanta Falcons signed free agent offensive lineman Germain Ifedi to a one-year deal Wednesday.

Terms were not released.

Ifedi is the fifth former Chicago Bears player signed by the Falcons since Ryan Pace joined the staff as a senior personnel executive. He spent the past seven seasons as the general manager in Chicago before being fired in January.

Ifedi, 27, played in just nine games (seven starts) for the Bears in 2021, having spent time on injured reserve with a knee injury. Overall, he has started 83 of 85 games on the right side of the line for the Bears and Seattle Seahawks, who selected him in the first round of the 2016 draft.

Running back Damien Williams, wide receiver Damiere Byrd, offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson and safety Teez Tabor are the former Bears who also have signed with the Falcons this offseason.

The Falcons also announced the signing of linebacker Rashaan Evans to a one-year deal.

Evans, 26, played in 59 games (50 starts) for the Tennessee Titans, who selected him No. 22 overall in the 2018 draft. He has 317 career tackles, three sacks, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble in four seasons.
