Report: Vikings request interviews for GM candidates

The Minnesota Vikings reportedly have identified at least two external candidates for their general manager vacancy.

NFL Network reported that the team has requested interviews with assistant general managers Dave Ziegler of the Tennessee Titans and Terrance Gray of the Buffalo Bills.

Vikings vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski has served as the interim GM since the team fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah after four years on the job.

Ziegler joined the Titans in 2025. He was the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders from 2022-23 and worked in New England’s front office from 2013-21, winning three Super Bowls with the Patriots.

Gray has been with the Bills since 2017 and was promoted to assistant GM in May 2025. He worked as a college scout for the Vikings from 2006-16, overlapping with Brzezinski.

Report: 49ers to elevate WR Willie Snead vs. Rams

The San Francisco 49ers will elevate veteran wide receiver Willie Snead IV to the active roster for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, Pro Football Network reported.

Snead, 29, would take the roster spot of rookie WR Danny Gray (hip), who is listed as doubtful and expected to miss the game.

Snead was signed to the team’s practice squad after getting released in final roster cuts.

Snead has 279 career catches for 3,431 yards and 16 touchdowns in 95 career games (48 starts) with four teams. He appeared in nine games for the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders in 2021.

Gray appeared in two games this season and has been targeted two times. He was selected in the third round of this year’s draft.

Also for the Niners, DL Arik Armstead (foot), TE Ross Dwelley (rib) and DL Javon Kinlaw (knee) are all questionable against the Rams. Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (hamstring) was cleared to play after he was injured in Week 1 of the preseason.

Report: Ravens to sign WR Devin Gray

The Baltimore Ravens are adding wide receiver Devin Gray to their roster, according to a report Thursday by NFL Network, signing the 25-year-old to a one-year deal, pending a physical.

Gray, who went undrafted out of Cincinnati in 2018, has spent the past three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.

He was a member of team’s practice squad for most of the time, although he was elevated to the active roster once last season — for the Falcons’ Week 17 matchup vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gray, 6 feet and 192 pounds, did not play in that game and has not received any regular-season snaps in his career.

Led by Henry To’o To’o, four Vols starters enter transfer portal

Four Tennessee starters, the team’s top and third-leading tacklers, a standout running back and a key offensive lineman, are entering the NCAA’s transfer portal, indicating they will be playing elsewhere next season.

The decisions by linebackers Henry To’o To’o and Quavaris Crouch, running back Eric Gray and offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson come two days after head coach Jeremy Pruitt was fired amid an investigation into what Tennessee chancellor Donde Plowman said were “serious NCAA rules violations.”

To’o To’o, a sophomore, made a team-high 76 tackles, including 10 behind the line of scrimmage. He arrived in Knoxville from California as a four-star recruit having chosen the Vols over Alabama, Utah, Southern California and Washington.

Crouch, a sophomore and former four-star recruit from North Carolina, started every game in 2020 and finished with 57 tackles.

Gray, also a sophomore, was primed to take over next season after finishing sixth in the SEC in rushing yards per game (85.8) and sixth in yards from scrimmage per game (114). In two seasons at Tennessee, he ran for 1,311 yards and eight touchdowns on 258 carries, in addition to making 43 receptions for 369 yards and three TDs.

Johnson, a senior, started five games at left tackle this season and could have returned after the NCAA granted players a free year in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wanya Morris, a sophomore and former five-star recruit who split time with Johnson, announced earlier this month he was transferring to Oklahoma.

Tennessee was already reeling after the departures of quarterbacks Jarrett Guarantano (Washington State) and J.T. Shrout (Colorado), running back Ty Chandler (North Carolina), wide receiver Brandon Johnson (UCF) and linebacker Deandre Johnson (Miami), who departed after the Vols went 3-7.

The losing record preceded the school releasing the findings of internal investigation into recruiting violations and improper benefits that resulted in Pruitt’s ousting.

Assistant coaches Shelton Felton and Brian Niedermeyer were ousted this week, too, as were four staffers involved with on-campus football recruiting, the director and assistant director of football player personnel and a quality control assistant coach.

Kevin Steele, the former defensive coordinator at Auburn who was hired as an assistant coach on Jan. 12, was named the Volunteers’ interim coach after Pruitt was let go.
