Reports: Bucs agree with DE Haason Reddick on $14M deal

Pro Bowl edge rusher Haason Reddick agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $14 million, according to multiple reports Monday.

The deal, which won’t become official until Wednesday, includes $12 million guaranteed, per the reports.

Reddick is coming off a season in which he didn’t play until late October amid a contract-related holdout situation with the New York Jets, who obtained Reddick last March from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2026 draft pick.

Reddick, who was looking for a long-term deal, ultimately agreed to a contract adjustment. He had been due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract.

However, $5.5 million of that was forfeited when he sat out games, and related fines added up to another approximately $1.5 million lost in 2024, according to ESPN. This was despite the Jets agreeing not to fine him $12 million as they could have for his refusal to play.

A first-round pick (13th overall) by Arizona in 2017, Reddick is a two-time Pro Bowl selection with 424 tackles, 102 quarterback hits, 59 sacks and 17 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles (2022-23).

He finished the tumultuous past season with just 14 tackles, three quarterback hits, one forced fumble and a sack in 10 games (two starts) with the Jets.

Reddick recorded 50.5 sacks from 2020-23.

Jets deem edge rusher Haason Reddick ready for debut vs. Patriots

All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick will make his debut for the New York Jets on Sunday against the host New England Patriots, Jets coach Jeff Ulbrich said Friday.

Ulbrich said Reddick, 30, will not have restrictions on his playing time against the Patriots (1-6) after ending his contract-related holdout earlier this week.

The Jets (2-5) obtained Reddick in the offseason from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2026 draft pick. He missed all of training camp and the start of the season, requesting a trade in a contract dispute.

Reddick, who was seeking a long-term deal, was due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract.

ESPN reported that the team will not assess him more than $12 million in fines that accrued during his holdout in exchange for him joining the team on Monday. The report said Reddick agreed to an “adjusted contract,” with his newly hired agent, Drew Rosenhaus saying they are working on a long-term extension with the Jets.

Reddick has recorded 50.5 sacks over the past four seasons.

A first-round pick (13th overall) by Arizona in 2017, Reddick is a two-time Pro Bowl selection with 410 tackles, 99 quarterback hits, 58 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles (2022-23).

Ulbrich also ruled out guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), safety Ashtyn Davis (concussion) and defensive lineman Leki Fotu (knee). Safety Tony Adams (hamstring) and wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) will be game-time decisions.

“(Adams is) probably doubtful right now,” Ulrich said Friday. “We’re still going to assess him. We’ve still got some time here. Allen Lazard is in the same kind of boat with his chest (injury).”

Report: Haason Reddick ends holdout, will join Jets on Monday

Haason Reddick ended his holdout with the New York Jets on Sunday, with the edge rusher agreeing to an “adjusted contract,” ESPN reported.

“We will continue to work towards a long-term extension with the Jets,” Reddick’s newly hired agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN.

The Jets acquired Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2026 draft pick on April 1, but the two-time Pro Bowl selection was a no-show while seeking a long-term deal.

Reddick, 30, was due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract.

ESPN reported that the team will not assess him more than $12 million in fines that accrued during his holdout in exchange for him joining the team on Monday.

Rosenhaus told ESPN that Jets owner Woody Johnson was “very involved” in ending the stalemate.

Reddick has recorded 50.5 sacks over the past four seasons.

A first-round pick (13th overall) by Arizona in 2017, Reddick is a two-time Pro Bowl selection with 410 tackles, 99 quarterback hits, 58 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles.

The Jets (2-4) will face the Steelers (4-2) in Pittsburgh Sunday night. Wide receiver Davante Adams, who joined the Jets this week following a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, plans to play.

It is not clear when Reddick will be ready to play after missing training camp.

Jets holdout Haason Reddick hires Drew Rosenhaus

Disgruntled edge rusher Haason Reddick hired Drew Rosenhaus to negotiate an end to his holdout with the New York Jets, the agent confirmed Monday.

CAA parted ways with Reddick as a client last week amid his ongoing contract dispute with the Jets.

“We look forward to working with the Jets to get this resolved as soon as possible,” Rosenhaus told ESPN. “Haason would like to be a New York Jet for years to come and our goal is to make that happen.”

In five games entering “Monday Night Football” against the Bills, the Jets had 18 sacks this season. Will McDonald has a team-high 6.0 sacks.

The Jets acquired Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2026 draft pick on April 1, but the two-time Pro Bowl selection has been a no show while seeking a long-term deal.

Reddick was due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract.

Reddick, 30, has recorded 50.5 sacks over the past four seasons.

NFL’s lone holdout, LB Haason Reddick, not ruled out by Jets

No-show Haason Reddick, the NFL’s final player holdout entering the regular season, was not at the team facility for practice with the New York Jets on Thursday.

But with four nights until gameday, Jets head coach Robert Saleh isn’t putting to rest the possibility Reddick might play at San Francisco on Monday night.

“Not ruling him out yet. It’s feasible. I mean, the opponent we’re playing just had two guys show up to practice,” Saleh said Thursday. “You trust that your veterans who know how to do things the right way will get themselves ready to play.”

Reddick is due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract and is looking for a long-term deal. He has recorded 50.5 sacks over the past four seasons and was penciled in as a starter at one of the Jets’ edge positions.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas said he hasn’t spoken to Reddick since April 1, when the latter visited the Jets’ facility. Douglas noted that he also hasn’t had any recent talks with Reddick’s representation “but the phone lines are open.”

The 49ers reached contract agreements with two late arrivals in wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and left tackle Trent Williams. Aiyuk attended most of training camp and preseason practices but didn’t participate. Williams skipped all offseason and preseason workouts with the team out of frustration with a six-year contract he completed the first three seasons of because it was devoid of guaranteed money for 2024, 2025 and 2026.

49ers general manager John Lynch addressed both deals and each player reported in time to participate in practice this week. They’re expected to be on the field in Santa Clara on Monday night when the Jets visit for the regular-season opener.

But there’s no indication Reddick, acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, intends to blink.

Jets GM to Haason Reddick: ‘Get here and then let’s talk’

New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas was quite clear on Thursday while addressing the team’s view of the ongoing holdout of edge rusher Haason Reddick.

“The ball’s in their court and whenever he’s ready to come here, again, we can’t wait to have him,” Douglas said of Reddick, who was acquired by the Jets in a March trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reddick is due to make $14.25 million in the final season of his three-year, $45 million contract and is looking for a long-term deal.

Douglas said he hasn’t spoken to Reddick since April 1, when the latter visited the Jets’ facility. Douglas noted that he also hasn’t had any recent talks with Reddick’s representation “but the phone lines are open.”

Douglas said he’s not interested in veering from the norm in regard to contract negotiations once Reddick reports to the Jets, for fear of setting a precedent.

“I think we’ve been clear from the outset of, ‘Hey let’s get here and then let’s talk,’” Douglas said. “… I don’t have the benefit of just dealing with one person and one agent. A lot of decisions that you make will reverberate through the locker room and have a ripple effect in the locker room. So to me, that is and will always be the most important thing.”

Reddick, who turns 30 next month, has recorded 50.5 sacks over the past four seasons.

A first-round pick (13th overall) by Arizona in 2017, Reddick is a two-time Pro Bowl selection with 410 tackles, 99 quarterback hits, 58 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Cardinals (2017-20), Panthers (2021) and Eagles.

Reports: Jets acquire pass rusher Haason Reddick from Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles traded two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Haason Reddick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 draft pick, ESPN and NFL Network reported Friday.

Reddick, 29, is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Jets, the reports said.

The draft pick is a conditional third-round selection that would rise to a second-rounder if Reddick has double-digit sacks and plays at least 67.5 percent of the Jets’ defensive snaps, according to ESPN.

Reddick, a Pro Bowl selection in 2022 and 2023, fills a void at edge rusher for the Jets after they lost Bryce Huff in free agency to the Eagles.

Reddick started all 34 games for the Eagles the past two regular seasons, amassing a career-high 16 sacks in 2022 and 11 more in 2023. He has recorded double-digit sacks in each of the past four seasons and totaled 58 sacks, 410 tackles and 16 forced fumbles in 114 career games (81 starts) for the Arizona Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles.

Eagles’ Haason Reddick says he never requested trade

Linebacker Haason Reddick said Tuesday he never asked for a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, who reportedly have granted him permission to seek one.

“Never asked for a trade,” he posted on X. “However, I do understand it’s a business. Preparing for whatever is next!”

Reddick, 29, also told Bleacher Report that he wants to stay with his hometown Eagles.

“I would like to get an extension done here at home,” Reddick said. “At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded.”

Multiple outlets, including ESPN and NFL Network, reported Sunday that Philadelphia gave him permission to seek a trade.

Reddick has one season remaining on a three-year, $45 million contract he signed in March 2022. He is due to earn $14.25 million in base salary in 2024.

Reddick recorded a career-high 16 sacks to go along with an NFL-best five forced fumbles in 17 starts during his first season with the Eagles in 2022. He followed that up with 11 sacks in 17 starts in 2023 en route to being named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl.

He has registered 410 tackles, 58 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Arizona Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles. The Cardinals selected him with the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Report: Eagles allow LB Haason Reddick to seek trade

The Philadelphia Eagles have granted linebacker Haason Reddick permission to seek a trade, NFL Network reported Sunday.

Reddick, 29, recorded a career-high 16 sacks to go along with an NFL-best five forced fumbles in 17 starts during his first season with the Eagles in 2022. He followed that up with 11 sacks in 17 starts in 2023 en route to being named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl.

Reddick received $1.035 million as a base salary in 2022 and $1.08 million in 2023. He will earn $14.25 million in base salary in 2024, however. He signed a three-year, $45 million contract with $30 million of it guaranteed in March 2022.

Reddick has registered 410 tackles, 58 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) with the Arizona Cardinals (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021) and Eagles. The Cardinals selected him with the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The shuffling of the Arizona Cardinals continues.

On the same day the team officially added big-name pieces to its offense, the defense took a hit as the Cardinals lost free agent linebacker Haason Reddick to the Carolina Panthers, NFL Network reported Wednesday.

Coming off a 2020 season in which he led the team and set career highs in several categories — including sacks (12 1/2), quarterback hits (16), tackles for loss (15) and forced fumbles (six) — sources said Reddick will sign a deal in Carolina worth a maximum of $8 million with $6 million guaranteed.

The writing was on the wall for a Reddick departure when the Cardinals inked a high-dollar deal for another pass rusher earlier this month, former Houston Texans star J.J. Watt, who signed a two-year, $31 million deal. Reddick’s career numbers following the team’s decision last May not to pick up his fifth-year rookie option (worth $10 million) were not enough to retain him.

In Carolina, Reddick will reunite with Panthers head coach Matt Rhule, who was his coach in college while at Temple. Reddick was a first-round draft pick (13th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft.

In four seasons with Arizona, Reddick posted 255 tackles, 20 sacks, 33 tackles for loss and nine forced fumbles in 64 games (31 starts) while seeing action at both outside and inside linebacker.

He finished his final Cardinals season with a flourish — notching 7 1/2 sacks over his final four games of 2020, including a franchise single-game record with five in a Week 14 win at the New York Giants in December. He also forced three fumbles in that contest as part of six in a three-game stretch.

The Cardinals also are expected to lose free agent cornerback Patrick Peterson this offseason. Wednesday saw the offensive additions of three-time Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson (trade with Las Vegas Raiders) and seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green (signed one-year free agent contract).

This offseason Arizona has also re-signed linebackers Markus Golden and Tanner Vallejo along with cornerback Robert Alford.
