LSU LB Harold Perkins Jr. (ACL) done for season

Preseason All-American linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. of No. 14 LSU will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in Saturday’s game.

Perkins was likely playing in his final season for the Tigers and expected to be an early round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Certainly an injury that we feel terrible about, especially for Harold and the work that he’s done,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said Monday. “We’ll have somebody else step up. … These are difficult, but we’ve got really good players that can come in.”

Perkins sustained the injury making a tackle in the fourth quarter of LSU’s 34-17 win over UCLA on Saturday.

Perkins is a former 5-star recruit and 2022 first-team All-SEC selection. He has 162 career tackles with 13 career sacks, including 16 tackles this season.

LSU (3-1) hosts South Alabama this week.
