Eagles activate TE Ertz from IR, put OL Johnson on it

The Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday activated tight end Zach Ertz from injured reserve and put offensive lineman Lane Johnson on it.

The team also activated wideout J.J. Arcega-Whiteside from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Ertz has missed the past five games with an ankle injury sustained against Baltimore on Oct. 18. He returned to practice last week.

Ertz has 24 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown this season after being the team’s leading receiver in each of the past four seasons.

Johnson has battled an ankle injury all season and missed Monday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Johnson has played seven games – starting each of them — this season but has played 100 percent of the offensive snaps just twice. Johnson said last week his injured ankle “collapsed.”

Arcega-Whiteside has been on the COVID list the past two weeks and was a healthy scratch the game before that. He hasn’t played since Nov. 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
