Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) not spotted at practice

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was not present for the open portion of practice on Saturday, raising questions about his availability for the team’s home opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.

Brown, 27, popped up on the injury report Friday with an ailing hamstring issue. He was listed as a limited participant in practice.

“Just got a little tight in practice yesterday,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said on Saturday morning. “We’ll see how that goes.”

Brown, 27, had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 6 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Brown has 384 receptions for 6,066 yards and 43 touchdowns in 78 career games (70 starts) with the Tennessee Titans (2019-21) and Eagles.

DeVonta Smith and newcomer Jahan Dotson would see a larger workload should Brown sit out or be limited against the Falcons (0-1).

Eagles acquire WR Jahan Dotson from NFC East rival Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders on Thursday.

The Eagles also received a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft from their NFC East rivals in exchange for a third-round selection and two seventh-round picks in the same draft.

Dotson is expected to slot in as the third wide receiver in Philadelphia behind three-time Pro Bowl selection A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Brown and Smith each received a long-term contract extensions this offseason.

Dotson, 24, had 49 catches for 518 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games (16 starts) last season.

He has totaled 84 receptions for 1,041 yards and 11 scores in 29 games (26 starts) since being selected by Washington with the 16th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Commanders WRs Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuel to play vs. Bears

Washington Commanders wide receivers Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel are expected to play against the winless Chicago Bears on Thursday night in Landover, Md.

Neither player received an injury designation on Wednesday’s injury report released by the team. Dotson initially was listed as limited with an ankle injury, while Samuel also was limited due to a quad ailment.

It should be noted that practice participation levels were all estimations for the Commanders (2-2), who did not hold a full practice this week.

Samuel has 17 catches for 178 receiving yards in four games this season, while Dotson has 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Chris Rodriguez (illness) is considered questionable to play versus the Bears (0-4).
