Jerry Jeudy arrested for ‘tampering with domestic violence enhancer’

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer, a misdemeanor.

The Arapahoe (Colo.) County sheriff’s office confirmed the arrest in a tweet. Jeudy is being held in county jail without bond.

No further information about the circumstances around Jeudy’s arrest was released.

Jeudy, 23, has played two seasons with the Broncos since they selected him in the first round (15th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He played in 10 games (five starts) last season while dealing with a high ankle sprain and a stint on the COVID-19 list.

Jeudy has caught 90 passes for 1,323 yards and three touchdowns in 26 games (19 starts).

Broncos’ COVID list grows to 16, including Jerry Jeudy, Bradley Chubb

The Denver Broncos added five more players to the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday as they deal with an outbreak ahead of their Week 17 game at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, defensive lineman McTelvin Agim and linebackers Bradley Chubb, Jonathon Cooper and Baron Browning were placed on the list.

Jeudy, Chubb and Browning are starters. Denver coach Vic Fangio told reporters that those three, plus Agim, tested positive.

Other Broncos on the list that numbers 16 include wide receiver Tim Patrick, running back Mike Boone and cornerbacks Bryce Callahan and Mike Ford. But the Broncos aren’t concerned they will be too short-handed to play.

“I’m zeroed in on a Sunday kickoff,” Fangio told reporters. “Until I’m told otherwise, I’m ready for a 1:05 (p.m.) kickoff West Coast time.

The Broncos called up four players from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements, including Travis Fulgham, who led the Philadelphia Eagles in receiving last season.

Jeudy has hauled in 36 catches for 437 yards this season, his second in the NFL, over nine games (five starts). Chubb has started all six of his appearances in 2021; both players, former first-round draft picks, have missed time due to injuries.

Also, starting receiver Courtland Sutton’s testing results haven’t been confirmed and he could be added to the list. The team held Sutton out of Friday’s walkthrough practice.

Defensive line coach Bill Kollar is also on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the only Denver coach in protocol as of Friday.

Broncos put WR Jerry Jeudy and CB Ronald Darby on IR

The Denver Broncos put wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and cornerback Ronald Darby on injured reserve Tuesday with ailments sustained in their season opener against the New York Giants on Sunday.

Jeudy, the Broncos’ first-round pick in 2020, suffered a high ankle sprain in the third quarter of Denver’s 27-13 victory. He had caught six passes for 72 yards before he was injured and carted off the field. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Darby played all 61 snaps on defense and tied for the team lead with six tackles, but an evaluation Monday revealed a hamstring injury. He will miss at least three weeks, the minimum for an injured-reserve stint.

The Broncos signed cornerback Nate Hairston and wide receiver Kendall Hinton from the practice squad to replace Darby and Jeudy. Cornerback Rojesterman Farris and wide receiver Rico Gafford were added to the practice squad.

Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy exits with right ankle injury

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy left Sunday’s game against the host New York Giants with 8:50 remaining in the third quarter after an ankle injury

Jeudy was injured when he caught a 20-yard pass from Teddy Bridgewater. As he tried to advance the ball, New York defensive back James Bradberry landed hard on Jeudy’s right ankle while making the tackle.

As officials reviewed the play for a potential fumble, Jeudy was carted off the field.

Jeudy had six catches for 72 yards before the injury. As a rookie last season, the former first-round pick (15th overall) from Alabama finished with 52 catches for 856 yards to go along with three touchdowns.

Broncos WR Jeudy (shoulder), 4 others questionable vs. Raiders

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was one of five players the team designated as questionable for its road game Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 21-year-old rookie Jeudy leads the Broncos with 484 receiving yards this season on 30 catches with a pair of touchdowns. He hurt his shoulder in last week’s loss at Atlanta and was held out of Wednesday’s practice before working out on a limited basis the past two days.

Denver head coach Vic Fangio told reporters he is “pretty confident” Jeudy will be healthy enough to face the 5-3 Raiders as the Broncos (3-5) hold out hopes for a second-half playoff run.

Fellow wideout Diontae Spencer (shoulder), cornerback Bryce Callahan (ankle) and tackles Demar Dotson (groin/hand) and Jake Rodgers (shoulder) were also listed as questionable for Sunday.

Linebacker Joe Jones (calf) was ruled out. Cornerback A.J. Bouye (concussion), tight end Noah Fant (ankle), wide receiver Tim Patrick (hamstring) and guard Austin Schlottmann (ribs) are all expected to be active this weekend after being limited earlier in the week.

Starting tackle Kolton Miller (ankle) is listed as doubtful for the Raiders after sitting out his third consecutive practice on Friday. Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst (ankle) has been declared out for Sunday.
