Ravens’ Justin Tucker, wife address misconduct allegations

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker issued another lengthy statement to address allegations that he engaged in inappropriate behavior with massage therapists.

Sixteen women have accused Tucker of misconduct at eight different high-end spas in the Baltimore area from 2012-16.

“I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session, nor have I ever been told I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider,” Tucker’s statement read to multiple outlets. “These claims are simply not true. Throughout the last four weeks, I have spent countless hours replaying every interaction I have had with bodywork professionals over the last 13 years.

“I can assure whoever is reading this that I have never intended to disrespect anyone, cross any boundary, or make anyone feel uncomfortable in any way whatsoever. It devastates me to know that anyone I have worked with would not have felt respected and valued as a professional, but more importantly as a person, and to anyone who has felt otherwise, I am sorry. I want you to know I am committed to ensuring that everyone I interact with continues to feel that I respect them and care about them as a human being.”

Tucker’s wife, Amanda Bass, also provided a statement to Outkick.com on Wednesday.

“The false allegations against Justin have caused so much hurt to our family. I believe my husband, and I love and support him fully,” she said.

Justin Tucker, 35, moved to the Baltimore region in 2012 when he signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent. In 13 seasons with the Ravens, he is a five-time All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowl selection.

General manager Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh termed the allegations “concerning” and “serious” earlier this week at the NFL Scouting Combine. Harbaugh said the Ravens would be “looking at kickers” but described the reasoning for their interest in players at the position as “something we always do.”

The Baltimore Banner began investigating a tip received Jan. 9 regarding the allegations involving Tucker.

Ravens coming to terms with ‘serious’ allegations facing Justin Tucker

INDIANAPOLIS — When the Baltimore Banner reached out to the Ravens to discuss the allegations coming to light against kicker Justin Tucker, head coach John Harbaugh was in disbelief.

Not knowing the full context of the allegations still coming to light, Harbaugh said he didn’t know the breadth of the situation until he read it himself.

Tucker is accused of inappropriate behavior by 16 victims who were massage therapists at eight different high-end spas between 2012 and 2016.

“It’s not what you want to wake up to and read,” Harbaugh said Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine before echoing general manager Eric DeCosta’s assessment of a “serious situation, concerning.”

“There’s too many stories like that that make you feel sad, less than great.”

DeCosta said the Ravens are allowing the NFL investigation into the incidents to play out.

“It’s a tough deal,” Harbaugh said. “That is what we’re trying to do is reconcile it.”

Harbaugh called Tucker about two weeks later on a Sunday morning to check on him and talk “more from a family perspective.”

He made it clear that the circumstances impact the team this week.

“We’re looking at kickers,” Harbaugh said. “You look at every position. We would’ve been looking at kickers anyway. Justin’s our kicker but nobody can go forever.”

Tucker’s representatives told The Banner to refer to the kicker’s lengthy social media post on Jan. 30 in which he vehemently denied all allegations. Tucker called the allegations “unequivocally false” in that post.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said earlier this month he was “surprised” when he got word of the alleged wrongdoing. He addressed the allegations against Tucker during his press conference ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

“They are obviously serious issues and he is taking that seriously as are we,” Goodell said at the time.

The Ravens said in their previous statement that they “take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”

Tucker, 35, moved to the Baltimore region in 2012 after the Ravens signed him as an undrafted free agent. In 13 seasons with the team, he is a five-time All-Pro selection, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and the NFL’s all-time leader in field goal percentage at 89.1.

The Banner began investigating a tip received Jan. 9 regarding the allegations involving Tucker.

Report: Seven more accuse Ravens K Justin Tucker of sexual misconduct

Seven more women have come forward in accusing Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker of inappropriate sexual behavior during massage-therapy sessions, the Baltimore Banner reported on Sunday.

Per the report, the total number of alleged victims reached 16. All of the incidents involving Tucker allegedly took place between 2012 and 2016 at eight different high-end spas in the Baltimore area.

In response to the new allegations, Tucker’s representatives told The Banner to refer to the kicker’s lengthy social media post on Jan. 30 in which he vehemently denied all allegations. Tucker called the allegations “unequivocally false” in that post.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the allegations against Tucker during his press conference ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

“They are obviously serious issues and he is taking that seriously as are we,” Goodell said at the time.

The Ravens said in their previous statement that they “take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”

Tucker, 35, moved to the region in 2012 after the Ravens signed him as an undrafted free agent. In 13 seasons with the team, he is a five-time All-Pro selection, a seven-time Pro Bowler and the NFL’s all-time leader in field goal percentage at 89.1.

Report: 3 more women accuse Ravens K Justin Tucker of misconduct

Three more massage therapists allege Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior during massage sessions, The Baltimore Banner reported Saturday.

The allegations follow a report published by The Banner on Thursday in which six other women made similar accusations.

Tucker released a statement via social media on Thursday vehemently denying the allegations, and the Ravens said in their own statement that they “take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”

Following the latest allegations, attorneys for Tucker referred The Banner to his statement from two days ago.

The three massage therapists all worked at the same men’s spa in Baltimore. An attorney for the spa owner told the publication that the owner had not previously heard the allegations against Tucker, 35, despite at least one woman detailing reports she made to management about the kicker.

Each of the encounters with Tucker allegedly took place between 2012 and 2016 at high-end spas in the Baltimore area.

Tucker moved to the region in 2012 after the Ravens signed him as an undrafted free agent. In 13 seasons with the team, he is a five-time All-Pro selection and is the NFL’s all-time leader in field goal percentage at 89.1.

The Banner began investigating a tip received Jan. 9 regarding the allegations in advance of the Thursday report. The first six women who spoke to the news organization were kept anonymous out of their fear that the Ravens or their fans would retaliate.

Among that group, five accused Tucker of requesting that they “massage his pelvic region or inner thighs while he had an erection,” then proceeding to expose his genitals by moving the sheets laid over him. Two claimed that Tucker brushed them with his exposed penis, and three said that he left “a large wet spot” on their massage tables that they “strongly believed to be ejaculate.”

Tucker said it didn’t happen.

“The allegations in The Baltimore Banner article about me are unequivocally false,” Tucker wrote in a lengthy denial.

“Throughout my career as a professional athlete, I have always sought to conduct myself with the utmost professionalism. I have never before been accused of misconduct of any kind, and I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in front of a massage therapist or during a massage therapy session or during other bodywork. I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business.”

Massage therapists accuse Ravens K Justin Tucker of sexual misconduct

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by six massage therapists in an investigative story by the Baltimore Banner on Thursday.

Tucker released a statement on social media vehemently denying the allegations, and the Ravens said in their own statement that they “take any allegations of this nature seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”

The Banner reporters who published the story said they received a tip Jan. 9 and began investigating the allegations. The six women who spoke to the news organization were kept anonymous out of their fear that the Ravens or their fans would retaliate.

Five accused Tucker of requesting that they “massage his pelvic region or inner thighs while he had an erection,” then proceeding to expose his genitals by moving the sheets laid over him. Two claimed that Tucker brushed them with his exposed penis, and three said that he left “a large wet spot” on their massage tables that they “strongly believed to be ejaculate.”

The alleged incidents took place between 2012 and 2016.

The Banner’s story claimed that two Baltimore-area spas banned Tucker from returning, but Tucker’s attorneys deny that that is true. The attorneys also denied Tucker ever ejaculated at a spa.

“In accusing me of misconduct, the article takes innocuous, or ambiguous, interactions and skews them so far out of proportion they are no longer recognizable, and it presents vague insinuations as fact,” Tucker’s statement continued. “This is desperate tabloid fodder.”

Tucker retained the law firm Clare Locke and called them “the leading defamation law firm in the U.S.”

“As a matter of principle, I respect when individuals come forward to report misconduct of any kind,” Tucker wrote. “I support a process that allows claims to be properly investigated. But, for the sake of myself and my family, I cannot allow false claims to go unchallenged. I cannot be any clearer. These allegations are false and incredibly hurtful to both me and, more importantly, my family.”

An NFL spokesperson told ESPN that it was not aware of allegations against Tucker until the Banner contacted the league for their story.

Tucker, 35, is the most accurate field goal kicker in league history (89.1 percent) and the longest-tenured member of the Ravens. He has spent his entire 13-year career (2012-24) with Baltimore.

Ravens back PK Justin Tucker after missed FGs in two-point loss

Justin Tucker remains the only option for the Baltimore Ravens at kicker, and head coach John Harbaugh emphasized on Monday he plans to keep it that way.

Tucker missed two field goals Sunday in Baltimore’s 18-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a defeat that pushes the Steelers into full control of the AFC North.

Tucker made a 54-yard field goal after missing from 47 and 50 yards to fall from the top of the all-time NFL accuracy rankings.

“The best option right now is to get Justin back on point because he is fully capable of doing it,” Harbaugh said. “We certainly haven’t lost any confidence in Justin Tucker.”

Carolina Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro moved ahead of Tucker by percentage points. Pineiro is the NFL’s most accurate kicker ever at 89.4 percent (101 of 113) with Tucker standing at 89.3 entering Week 12. In 460 career tries, Tucker has made 411 field goals in 460 attempts.

The six total missed FGs this season (in 22 attempts) exceed his total number of misses last season (five in 37 attempts). He already has tied for the second-most misses in a season during his 13-year career.

“He’s definitely our best option and he’s going to make a lot of kicks,” Harbaugh said. “I really believe that going forward. But it’s up to him and the guys he works with every day, to make those balls go straight. He’s going to get it figured out. We have coaches. We have technique, we look at the tape, he’s practicing well. He’s got to kick it straight.”

It was only the sixth time in his career that Tucker missed two field goals in the same game. He has five missed field goals in the Ravens’ four losses.

Tucker’s field-goal percentage of 72.7 has never been lower 11 games into the regular season.

Harbaugh said there is no point or purpose in trying to find competition to push Tucker this week or going forward.

“You’d have to find that competition first if you’re going to be blunt about it,” the coach said. “Where is that competition?”

Justin Tucker’s record 66-yard FG gives Ravens win over Lions

Justin Tucker set an NFL record by making a 66-yard field goal as time expired to give the Baltimore Ravens a 19-17 road win at the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Tucker’s kick hit the crossbar and then bounced over it, sending Baltimore (2-1) into a wild celebration and stunning the Lions.

Matt Prater held the old mark of 64 yards. Prater made the kick for the Denver Broncos in 2013 against the Tennessee Titans.

Two plays before Tucker’s kick, Baltimore converted a fourth-and-19 to the Detroit 48-yard line on a 36-yard pass from Lamar Jackson to Sammy Watkins. That was the Ravens’ lone third-down conversion in 10 attempts.

Jackson went 16-of-31 passing for 287 yards for the Ravens. He also rushed for 58 yards on seven carries.

Jared Goff went 22-of-30 passing for 217 yards in defeat for the Lions (0-3).

The Ravens opened up the scoring on a 39-yard field goal by Tucker with 10:05 left in the second quarter, and then took a 10-0 lead with 3:15 remaining until halftime on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jackson to Devin Duvernay.

Baltimore took a 13-0 lead with 12:16 remaining in the third quarter on a 50-yard field goal by Tucker, but the Lions responded on their next drive.

Detroit mounted an 11-play, 75-yard drive and cut its deficit to 13-7 with 5:21 left in the third on a 2-yard touchdown run by D’Andre Swift.

Baltimore extended its lead to 16-7 with 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a 32-yard field goal by Tucker.

The Lions answered again, mounting another long drive and cutting Baltimore’s lead to 16-14 on a 1-yard touchdown run by Jamaal Williams with 8:16 remaining.

The score capped off a 12-play, 75-yard drive that took 7:25 off of the clock.

Following an interception by Amani Oruwariye that gave the Lions the ball at their own 21-yard line, Detroit drove down the field and took a 17-16 lead with 1:04 remaining on a 35-yard field goal by Ryan Santoso.

Baltimore outgained the Lions 387-285.

Ballin' on a Budget Wild Card Weekend Results, Super Bowl Value Picks

Ballin' on a Budget Week 7 Results

THANK YOU, JUSTIN TUCKER. The missed extra point heard ‘round the world saved us from near disaster this week. Everything looked great. We were ready to go 4-1 on the week and then the Ravens decided to complicate things. We’ll talk about all that and more in this week’s results column, but suffice it to say we got pretty lucky.

WIN: Vikings -4 vs. Jets (-110): Vikings 37, Jets 17.

There were a few points where the Jets made this bet seem like it could finish close, but ultimately, the Vikings were just too much. We thought the -4 line looked too good to be true, but it turns out it wasn’t. We got good Kirk Cousins Sunday, which all but guaranteed we were in the clear.

Minnesota looks to be rolling right now and we will see if the oddsmakers catch up to that in future weeks when they’re setting lines. The win: $5.70.

WIN: Texans +5 vs. Jaguars (-105): Texans 20, Jaguars 7.

The Jaguars are a mess right now and boy, did we benefit from that mess. In hindsight, it would’ve been great to bet the Texans’ money line since they ended up winning the game outright. Even as it is, we got good value at -105, meaning oddsmakers really thought this was going to be a touchdown game.

Blake Bortles forgot how to play football and was replaced by Cody Kessler in the second half, but that didn’t help the Jaguars enough to get them back into the game. After starting 0-3, Houston is now in first place in the AFC South and after winning us our bet, we should be happy about that. Total win: $7.81.

LOSS: Panthers-Eagles OVER 45.5 (-110): Panthers 21, Eagles 17.

We looked doomed from the start until the two teams made things very interesting near the end of the game. Philly was driving before their drive stalled late. Had they scored and made it 24-21, we could’ve rooted for a Panther field goal to push us over and send things to overtime. As it happens, it wasn’t meant to be.

It turns out the betting gods really were on our side Sunday, though, as we will talk about in a minute. That being said, we can’t complain too much about not getting this backdoor cover, because it was our only blemish on the day. Total win: $0.

WIN: Saints over Ravens (+120): Saints 24, Ravens 23.

This was our upset pick of the week and it hit. Of course, this should have gone to overtime, but we will take it. It was a truly wild game with the Ravens seemingly tying the game before Justin Tucker missed his first extra point in 223 career tries. Baltimore looked like they were going to completely screw us over, but we somehow managed to escape.

Had Tucker drilled the extra point, we likely would have seen overtime, which would have made it impossible to win our Saints bet as well as our under bet. We’ll count our blessings as well as our winnings. The win: $6.60.

WIN: Saints-Ravens UNDER 49.5: Saints 24, Ravens 23.

This seemed like a mortal lock as the score sat at 3-0 Ravens six minutes before the half, but we very nearly had our hearts broken. A spurt of offense down the stretch almost pushed this thing over. As we mentioned, though, the Tucker missed extra point saved the day on both fronts.

Had he made it, the game would have been tied at 24. This was our biggest bet of the day and the only way to win it would have been a 24-24 tie. Thank goodness we didn’t have to root for that and narrowly escaped with both our bets in tact from this game. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Justin Tucker for finally putting us into the green on the season. Total win: $15.20.

PIGGY BANK: $152.12 (8.7% return on investment)
