Ravens TE Mark Andrews gets three-year extension

The Baltimore Ravens reached a three-year contract extension with tight end Mark Andrews, general manager Eric DeCosta announced Wednesday.

According to sources, the deal is worth $39.3 million with $26 million guaranteed.

Last week, Andrews, 30, joined the Kansas City Chiefs standout Travis Kelce as the lone tight end in the league to lead his franchise in receptions, yards receiving and touchdown catches.

In 2024, Andrews become the franchise leader in TD catches, now with 56. He overtook wide receiver Derrick Mason in career receiving yards (5,862) earlier in the 2025 campaign and last week, surpassed Mason in receptions (473).

Andrews and fellow Raven tight ends Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar were all pending free agents after the 2025 season.

“Mark is an all-time Raven — a top competitor and Pro Bowl tight end who is also a big part of our Baltimore community,” DeCosta said.

Andrews was a third-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2018, two rounds behind Baltimore selections of tight end Hayden Hurst and quarterback Lamar Jackson.

With Jackson at the helm, Andrews broke out in 2019, hauling in 10 touchdown passes and averaging 13.3 yards per catch.

Andrews earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and also earned selections in 2021 and 2022. He was tabbed First Team All-Pro in 2021 when he caught 107 passes for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns.

He leads the Ravens with five TD receptions this season and added his first career rushing touchdown, a game-winning 35-yard play from under center at Cleveland on Nov. 16.

Ravens TE Isaiah Likely questionable to make debut vs. Chiefs

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely was a full participant in practice on Friday and is questionable to make his season debut versus the host Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Likely is working his way back from foot surgery, a result of a non-contact injury sustained during position drills on July 29.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters on Friday that he hasn’t made up his mind on whether Likely will be on the field in Kansas City.

“It depends on what’s best for us and the team in terms of, we’ll watch the tape, see how his numbers look,” Harbaugh said. “It’s going to be a tough environment. He has practiced one week, but he looked really good. So is he ready to go in there, in this game against those guys and play at the top, top level and help us win the game? Or is somebody else more well-suited?

“But he could do it, looks good to me. We’ll just have to see if it’s the best thing for us on Sunday. We haven’t really decided that yet.”

Veteran tight end Mark Andrews reeled in six catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns in Baltimore’s 38-30 setback to the Detroit Lions on Monday.

Likely, 25, had 42 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games (nine starts) last season for the Ravens.

He has 108 catches for 1,261 yards and 14 TDs in 49 career games (19 starts) since being selected by Baltimore in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Coastal Carolina.

Also on Friday, the Ravens (1-2) listed left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle), linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) and defensive tackle Travis Jones (knee) as questionable to face the Chiefs (1-2). All three of those players were limited in practice on Friday.

Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (neck), fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) and defensive tackle Broderick Washington (ankle) did not practice for the third straight day on Friday and have been ruled out against Kansas City.

GM non-committal on Mark Andrews’ future with Ravens

Although Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta spoke glowingly about Mark Andrews on Tuesday, he wasn’t ready to commit to having the veteran tight end on the roster this season.

Andrews, 29, is entering the final season of his four-year, $56 million contract, however the Ravens could save $11 million against the cap by releasing or trading him.

“I never know what’s going to happen, and I would never want to say this or that, but I can tell you this: Mark Andrews is a warrior, and he’s played his butt off for us, and his competitiveness, his talent, his attitude, his leadership is so valued here,” DeCosta said. “He’s a great player, and we’re in the business of keeping as many great players as we can, so there’s always a lot of unpredictability with the draft. You just never know.”

Andrews has spent his entire career with the Ravens, however his last game was a crushing one. He dropped a pass on a two-point conversion with 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter that would have tied the AFC divisional round game against the Buffalo Bills.

Andrews, an All-Pro who has spent seven seasons with the Ravens, finished the game with five receptions on seven targets for 61 yards. He also lost a fumble in the fourth quarter that the Bills recovered and turned into three points. That was just his second career lost fumble.

Andrews recorded 55 catches for 673 yards with a team-high 11 touchdowns in 17 games last season.

Fellow tight end Isaiah Likely, 24, set career highs last season in receptions (42), receiving yards (477) and touchdowns (six).

Ravens’ Mark Andrews on dropped pass: ‘I’m absolutely gutted’

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been the subject of fan ire since he dropped a pass with 1:33 remaining that would have tied the AFC divisional round game against the Buffalo Bills late in the fourth quarter last Sunday.

He remained quiet until Thursday, when Andrews finally addressed the 27-25 loss in an emotional message posted to Instagram that acknowledged both his regret and his resolve to move on.

“It’s impossible to adequately express how I feel. I’m absolutely gutted by what happened on Sunday. I’m devastated for my teammates, my coaches and Ravens fans,” Andrews said. “I pour every ounce of my being into playing at the highest level possible, because I love my team and the game of football like nothing else. That is why it’s taken me until now to collect my thoughts and address this publicly.

“Even though the shock and disappointment are unlike anything I’ve felt before, I refuse to let the situation define me. I promise that this adversity will only make me stronger and fuel us as we move forward.”

Andrews, an All-Pro who has spent seven seasons with the Ravens, finished the game with five receptions on seven targets for 61 yards. He also lost a fumble in the fourth quarter that the Bills recovered and turned into three points. That was just his second career lost fumble.

Andrews, 29, has had the backing of his team.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson told a distraught Andrews on Sunday as he sat on the bench that the loss couldn’t be pinned on him.

“We’re a team. It’s all of us, bro. It ain’t just you,” Jackson said.

And on Wednesday, coach John Harbaugh gave Andrews his support.

“Mark is a huge part of our future and we love him,” Harbaugh said. “We’re there for him. If anybody can take a tough circumstance like that and handle it with class and grace and dignity and mental toughness, it’s most definitely Mark Andrews.”

A Bills fan, seeking to help Andrews through tough times, started a GoFundMe campaign to support Breakthrough T1D, which supports diabetes research. Andrews is a Type-1 diabetic.

The campaign has raised more than $100,000.

“I thank everyone who has shown me and our team genuine support these past several days,” Harbaugh said. “Despite the negativity, I’ve seen heartfelt love and encouragement, including from those who have generously donated to the Breakthrough T1D organization. Even when the moment seems darkest, perspective can reveal that there’s still a lot of light in this world. I’m now going to do my part to bounce back and contribute to it.”

In seven NFL seasons, all with the Ravens, Andrews has 436 receptions for 5,530 yards and 51 touchdown catches.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews practices for 1st time since car accident

Baltimore Ravens All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews practiced on Friday for the first time since an Aug. 14 car accident.

Andrews, 28, did not suffer any apparent injuries, according to the team, in the early morning collision as he was traveling to practice. Baltimore County police said two cars sustained heavy damage in the crash about 1.5 miles from the Ravens’ training facility. No injuries were reported at the time.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has been consistent in saying that Andrews did not have any serious injuries and that it was not a concern. Andrews is scheduled to speak with media members after practice Friday.

Baltimore opens the regular season on Thursday against the host Kansas City Chiefs.

Andrews is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and 2021 first-team All-Pro for the Ravens, who selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

He has 381 catches for 4,857 yards and 40 touchdowns in 87 career games (42 starts). He missed the last six games in 2023 after suffering an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Nov. 16. Andrews was hurt on a hip-drop tackle, which has since been banned by the NFL. He returned for the AFC Championship Game in January.

Ravens activate TE Mark Andrews ahead of AFC title game

The Baltimore Ravens activated tight end Mark Andrews off injured reserve on Friday in time for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs.

Andrews hasn’t played since Nov. 16 when he suffered an ankle injury in a win against the Cincinnati Bengals. At the time, it was believed Andrews wouldn’t play again until the 2024 season.

His availability will give Lamar Jackson and the No. 1 seed Ravens another option, and the quarterback said earlier this week that having his top tight end back would be huge for the offense.

“With Mark and the type of guy he is, the type of caliber player he is, and what he brings to the table for us, it would definitely mean a lot for us,” Jackson said.

Andrews, 28, caught 45 passes for 544 yards in 10 games this season before the injury. He scored six touchdowns.

The Ravens selected Andrews in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. A 2021 All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection, Andrews has 381 catches for 4,857 yards and 40 scores in 87 career games (42 starts).

Report: Ravens TE Mark Andrews to play in AFC title game

Mark Andrews was on the practice field for the second consecutive week when the Baltimore Ravens kicked off preparations for the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday.

Andrews expects to play in the AFC Championship Game for the first time since landing on injured reserve in November, NFL Network reported Wednesday. But head coach John Harbaugh cautioned no decision on his tight end’s gameday status would be made until late in the week, in a timetable that also applies to cornerback Marlon Humphrey (ankle).

Count quarterback Lamar Jackson among the most eager to find out if Andrews gets the green light.

“That’s my bread and butter, big bro. And it would definitely mean a lot,” Jackson said of potentially getting Andrews back in the lineup. “We’ve already got guys who’ve stepped up, like (Isaiah) Likely, Bate (Rashod Bateman), OB (Odell Beckham Jr.), Nelly (Nelson Agholor). We’ve got Charlie (Kolar). We’ve got all these guys that stepped up.

“But with Mark and the type of guy he is, the type of caliber player he is, and what he brings to the table for us, it would definitely mean a lot for us.”

Andrews, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, hasn’t played since Week 11 and targeted a return for the conference championship when he was placed on injured reserve.

Andrews led the team in receptions and yards in 2021 and 2022 and was tops on the team with 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns at the time of his injury.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews not expected to play Saturday

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews needs another week to recover from an ankle injury he suffered in Week 11.

Multiple reports Friday indicated Andrews is targeting a return for the AFC Championship game next week should Baltimore take care of the Houston Texans in the divisional playoffs Saturday afternoon.

Optimism peaked when Andrews practiced Wednesday for the first time since Nov. 14.

But a day later, head coach John Harbaugh said the availability of the three-time Pro Bowl tight end was “up in the air.”

Isaiah Likely has 30 catches for 411 yards and five touchdowns in eight starts filling Andrews’ role.

Andrews missed the final six games of the regular season after suffering an ankle injury Nov. 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals but still led Baltimore in touchdown receptions with six. He caught 45 passes for 544 yards in 10 games.

“If I feel like I’m gonna be helpful to the team, I’m gonna go. If I feel like I’m close but not there, I’m gonna let these guys go and, hopefully, get there next weekend,” Andrews said when asked Wednesday what it might take for him to play.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews (knee) has full practice

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday as he continues his comeback from a knee injury.

Andrews was limited at practice on Tuesday.

The Ravens begin their postseason Saturday at home with a divisional-round matchup against the Houston Texans.

Andrews missed the final six games of the regular season after suffering an ankle injury Nov. 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals but still led Baltimore in touchdown receptions with six. He caught 45 passes for 544 yards.

“If I feel like I’m gonna be helpful to the team, I’m gonna go. If I feel like I’m close but not there, I’m gonna let these guys go and hopefully get there next weekend,” Andrews said when asked what it would take for him to play.

Isaiah Likely has 30 catches for 411 yards and five touchdowns in eight starts filling as the starter at tight end in place of Andrews.

Also Wednesday, the Ravens reportedly waived running back Melvin Gordon III, leaving Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. The Ravens have Dalvin Cook on the practice squad.

Gordon appeared in four games, rushing 26 times for 81 yards and a TD.

‘Big step’ puts Ravens TE Mark Andrews (ankle) close to return

The Baltimore Ravens saw hopeful signs from standout tight end Mark Andrews, who practiced Tuesday and is working toward a return to the team.

The Ravens begin their postseason Saturday at home with a divisional-round matchup against the Houston Texans.

Andrews, who also practiced last Friday, was officially “limited” but moved well and made a leaping grab during the portion of practice open to reporters.

“I think today was his best showing so far. He really took a big step,” coach John Harbaugh said. “What you saw today, we saw as well. So that’s encouraging. We’ll just have to see how it goes.”

Andrews missed the final six games of the regular season after suffering an ankle injury Nov. 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals but still led Baltimore in touchdown receptions with six.

He caught 45 passes for 544 yards.

“It’s great to see one of our main guys back,” quarterback Lamar Jackson said. “We just need him to keep preparing, keep getting better a day at a time. We’re waiting on him.”
