It’s Thanksgiving Week! None of these are marquee games, but it’s one of the three biggest handles of the year. Everyone’s on the favorite and the over.  Then on Sunday, Robert wonders, have the Texans rattled off the most fraudulent 7-game winning streak in the history of sports, including Little League baseball? Steelers-Broncos will probably be the biggest decision of the week. Get the full breakdown.

23:33: San Francisco 49ers +3.5 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers — What are the Bucs even doing? Tampa needs to tank. If

26:48: New York Giants +6 at Philadelphia Eagles — The Eagles the worst defending Super Bowl Champions ever and the Giants are looking much better.

30:25: Cleveland Browns +3 at Cincinnati Bengals — The wheels are falling off for the Bengals and expect an increase in Cleveland money.

33:29: New England Patriots -9.5 at N.Y. Jets — NE doesn’t care what the score is as long as they win. Every parlay and teaser is on the Pats.

37:40: Arizona Cardinals +12 at L.A. Chargers — Anyone taking Arizona?

40:50:  Miami Dolphins +8 at Indianapolis Colts — Ryan Tannehill back but Andrew Luck hasn’t been sacked in about 5 weeks! He can pick ‘em apart with that kind of time.

42:00: Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers — Seattle always a public team when getting points.

42:30: Pittsburgh Steelers -3 at Denver Broncos — Robert says this will probably be the book’s biggest decision of the week. Late money will all be on Pittsburgh.

43:30: Green Bay Packers +3.5 at Minnesota Vikings — Packers are live dog.

44:20: Tennessee Titans +6 at Houston Texans  — Robert loves Titans in this spot.

Week 11 is here and what a week it is. There are some truly bad games like Bucs vs. Giants, but there’s also a possible Super Bowl preview with Chiefs vs. Rams and the highest regular season total ever. The Steelers are also officially Le’Veon Bell-less (and may be better of for it) and the Bears defense is looking fierce.

15:41 — Green Bay Packers +3 at Seattle Seahawks  — Perrault doesn’t usually play Thursday night games, but he just may need to get some action on this week’s match up.

19:09 — Dallas Cowboys +3 at Atlanta Falcons — After the ‘boys primetime win in Week 10, will the public fall back in love with America’s Team this week?

26:06 — Carolina Panthers -4 at Detroit Lions — Could this be ugliest game of the week? No one wants to take a chance on Detroit.

28:27 — Cincinnati Bengals +4.5 at  Baltimore Ravens — This game’s off the board in most spots. Does anyone even care? .

30:30 — Philadelphia Eagles +8.5 at New Orleans Saints — Contrarian pick of the week!

35:49 — Tennessee Titans +2 at Indianapolis  Colts —  Only one way to bet this game: take the dog.

39:11 — Houston Texans -3 at Washington Redskins — Will this be the worst game ever between two 6-3 teams?

43:15 — Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1.5 at N.Y. Giants — This is a hard game to handicap. They may have to book it, but you don’t have to play it.

45:35 — Oakland Raiders +5.5 at Arizona Cardinals –– Oakland looks like they are playing for lottery picks.

48:21– Pittsburgh Steelers -5.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars — Where is the Jaguars of the beginning of season? Another contrarian option

50:11 — Minnesota Vikings +2.5 at Chicago Bears — The Vikings should be taken seriously in the NFC, but the Bears defense is scary good.

52:51 — Kansas City +3.5 at L.A. Rams — Hyper emotional game for L.A., but KC is the right pick. And with the highest regular season game total ever at 63.5 (and rising), the under could be a smart play.

39:06 — Seattle Seahawks +9.5  at L.A. Rams — Seattle is the livest dog you’ve ever seen.

41:31 — Miami Dolphins +9.5 at Green Bay Packers — This game is Dolphins vs. Aaron Rodgers. And the public loves Aaron Rodgers.

42:49 — Detroit Lions +6.5 at Chicago Bears — Has media spin superficially inflated the Lions?

44:22– Dallas Cowboys +7 at Philadelphia Eagles — Without Sean Lee the Cowboys suffer on defense.

45:10 — Green Bay Packers +5.5 at New England Patriots   —  Primetime, at home? You don’t bet against the Patriots.

NFL Week 8 has both a potential  NFC Championship preview in Saints vs. Vikings and the worst game of the year with 49ers vs. Cardinals. The New York Football Giants are in the midst of a fire sale and the Oakland Raiders are officially in tank mode. There are some crazy lines this week, listen below for complete insight and some laughs.

0:44 — Recap of Week 7.

5:10 — The Giants’ (controversial)2-point conversion was the right decision.

9:50 — Is the NFL the next league to deal with tanking? The Raiders’ recent trades scream “tank mode”.

17:47 — Philadelphia Eagles -3 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London) — The Eagles have been competitive and the public is still on them. The Jags were supposed to be among the best teams in the NFL this year but now are in a free fall.

21:20 — Cleveland Browns +8 at Pittsburgh Steelers — Steelers’ hold out RB Le’veon Bell will not return until after the trade deadline. Pittsburgh will beats Cleveland, but not sure they will cover.

24:22 — Denver Broncos +10 at Kansas City Chiefs — The Chiefs aren’t just beating the spread they are killing it. The Broncos have never been double digit dog vs. KC until now. Both teams won 45-10 in Week 7, what will Week 8 hold?

28:18 — Green Bay Packers +9.5 at L.A. Rams — The Rams are just ripping people apart recently, bit this is the biggest dog margin ever for an Aaron Rodgers QB’d team. Take the dog or the over.

31:10 — Washington Redskins PK at N.Y. Giants — The Big Blue fire sale is not impacting lines because the ‘Skins are a hard team to gauge.

33:13 — San Francisco 49ers PK at Arizona Cardinals — Don’t watch this game, don’t play this game.

34:51 — Seattle Seahawks +3 at  Detroit Lions — Newly acquired defensive tackle “Snacks” Harrison should make his debut in a Lions uniform this week and the public thinks Detroit turning a corner.

38:29 — New Orleans Saints PK at Minnesota Vikings — Game of the week!  Probably the most bet game of the weekend with both teams as serious Super Bowl contenders. Can make a case for both teams but Minnesota is the play here since they are home.

43:25 — New England Patriots -14 at Buffalo Bills — The number prevents a lot of action on this game. But it’s a Monday night, Buffalo has some pride, so bet the Bills or walk away.

46:16 — Baltimore Ravens -2 at Carolina Panthers — The league has figured the Ravens out. Expect a lot of action on this game.

47:16 — Tampa Bay Buccaneers +4.5 at Cincinnati Bengals — Bettors seem to like Tampa and just saw them prevail with a 59-yard game winning field goal. Cincy opened the season with the over/under at 7.5 games and the public is expecting a course correction.

48:48 — N.Y. Jets +7 at Chicago Bears — A healthy Khalil Mack will be a game changer. Teaser leg candidate.

45:00 — New Orleans Saints +2.5 at Baltimore Ravens  — May be a high scoring game, books will need Baltimore and the under.

46:46 — Minnesota Vikings -3.5  at NY Jets — Aren’t the Vikings better than a field goal versus the bangrd up Jets? Walk away.

49:01– NY Giants +4.5 at Atlanta Falcons — ATL is in serious trouble and NY is terrible. If you get over 4 take the Giants, or bet the over.

‘Pro Football Handle’: NFL Week 6 Breakdown, KC-NE, LAR-DEN, Big Total to Look Under

The post ‘Pro Football Handle’: NFL Week 6 Breakdown, KC-NE, LAR-DEN, Big Total to Look Under appeared first on SportsHandle.

On The Pro Football Handle, Las Vegas-based sports talk voice Matt Perrault and veteran bookmaker Robert Walker of USBookmaking dive into select NFL games, line movements and bookmaker liabilities, plus greater sports betting topics and stories that may have nothing to do with football. Walker has seen it all behind the counter and Perrault the same from behind the microphone, so they’ll have you prepared for anything.

It’s already NFL Week 6! This week the guys have spent some time soaking up the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) floor, some new sports betting products and also a borderline contentious panel that included an MLB and a gaming association executive.

On the gridiron, some home dogs for your consideration,  first international game of the season. And scoring is up 10 percent over last year with another total in the 60s (!!) in the marquee matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs at Foxboro to face the New England Patriots. Giddy up!

Spotify fans go here to listen.  Time codes for the episode follow below. Your feedback is welcome at @sports_handle.

1:18: The show’s on the road from G2E and the MLB is at the to sell its “integrity fee” or rather by rebranding it as a “royalty.” Sports Handle Editor in Chief Brett Smiley jumps on to discuss public perception of the integrity fee/royalty debate.

9:36: The future of retail and mobile wagering and Nevada’s archaic in-person sign up requirement.

19:40: Philadelphia Eagles -3 at N.Y.Giants — Opened -3 Philly, now at -3 even money. Why move the price not the line?

24:33: L.A. Chargers -1 at Cleveland Browns — Home dogs historically do well or at least have “sharp” bettor backing. Chargers are slight favorites or about a pick ‘em game.

28:03: Seattle Seahawks -3 vs Oakland Raiders (London) — How do international games impact bookmaking? Both teams are desperate and it’s a neutral field.

30:43: Jacksonville Jaguars -3 at Dallas Cowboys — The Jags are a juggernaut, but QB Blake Bortles is a singular (and key) fatal flaw.

33:36: Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 at Cincinnati Bengals — The public is buying into the changes the Steelers made last week and it’s a “show me” game for Cincy to prove if they are one of the best teams in AFC.

37:17: Chicago Bears -3 at Miami Dolphins: What is Miami? At least the Bears are the better team.

39:02: Totals talk: Rarely do NFL totals exceed 60, and scoring is 10 percent higher than the 2017 season. The guys identify a good under bet.

40:53: Kansas City Chiefs +3.5 at New England Patriots — Will the Brady vs. Mahomes showdown live up to the hype? Maybe take the under…

46:11: Los Angeles Rams -7 at Denver Broncos — Broncos or pass…

‘Pro Football Handle’ Week 5: Seahawks-Rams, Jaguars-Chiefs, DraftKings Moves and Much More

The post ‘Pro Football Handle’ Week 5: Seahawks-Rams, Jaguars-Chiefs, DraftKings Moves and Much More appeared first on SportsHandle.

On The Pro Football Handle podcast, Las Vegas-based sports talk voice Matt Perrault and veteran bookmaker Robert Walker of USBookmaking dive into select NFL games, line movements and bookmaker liabilities, plus greater sports betting topics and stories that may have nothing to do with football. Walker has seen it all behind the counter and Perrault the same from behind the microphone, so they’ll have you prepared for anything.

Happy NFL Week 5! More pretty high totals this week with several games at 50-plus and the Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers even approaching 60. Will the Kansas City Chiefs (-3) stay perfect (against the spread and otherwise) with QB phenom Patrick Mahomes — with the Jaguars coming to Arrowhead? And can the Super Bowl-favorite L.A. Rams keep the momentum against the Seattle Seahawks and the “12th Man” as a touchdown favorite on the road?

Spotify fans go here to listen.  Time codes for the episode follow below. Your feedback is welcome at @sports_handle.

1:05: Some industry news: DraftKings has hired two veteran, well-respected Nevada sportsbook executives week. These moves are a big win for DraftKings and its growing stable of bookmaking talent. The guys also explore casino protectionism and the future of online betting.

15:10: Indianapolis Colts -10 at New England Patriots (Thursday night)–  Sources tell Perrault Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will not play, while the Colts are riddled with injuries. The line is surprisingly high and puts the public and the pros may be on the same side.

21:00: The state of penalties in NFL.

26:21: Oakland Raiders +5 at L.A. Chargers — Chargers players say they are frustrated about home games feeling like road games, and linemakers agree.

29:40: Baltimore Ravens -3 at Cleveland Browns — Lines opened at Baltimore -1, now it’s out to  -3. The Ravens are not a public team, but they may be best team in AFC.

32:27: Game of the Week: Jacksonville Jaguars +3 at Kansas City Chiefs: Perrault says, Kansas City fans buy into their teams way too fast. Mahomes MVP talk and best QB in NFL already? The Chiefs are due to get beaten down.

36:42: Atlanta Falcons +3 at Pittsburgh Steelers — Are the Steelers favored because they are home or because they are a public (but totally ordinary) team?

39:58: Minnesota Vikings +3 at Philadelphia Eagles — The public will be on Philly, but will Minnesota really lose three in a row?

42:18: Dallas Cowboys +3 at Houston Texans —  The teams are even but the Texans have more upsides than the ‘Boys.

44:01: L.A. Rams -7 at  Seattle Seahawks — Everyone is on the Rams bandwagon, but if the Rams are going to get beat, it will be by someone like the Seahawks: well coached, passionate and in a tough environment. The Rams may escape with a victory, but take the points or walk away.

48:30: How much do linemakers adjust to video game-like totals?

53:03: Arizona Cardinals +4 at San Francisco 49ers — The 49ers have no Jimmy G and the Cards are a rollercoaster.

55:20: Washington Redskins -6.5 at New Orleans Saints — Upset alert? Monday Night Football will be a fun game if Washington can keep the ball moving.

55:48: N.Y. Giants +6.5 at Carolina Panthers — The Giants are bad and Walker is Eli Manning’s biggest detractor. Pros are on Big Blue at 7.

58:09: Tennessee Titans -4.5 at Buffalo Bills — The Titans may not score… but the Bills are not going to put up numbers against their D.

0:45: The guys recap their weird betting weekend with the Oregon Ducks’ collapse and Buffalo Bills domination at Minnesota.

3:38: Minnesota Vikings -7 at L.A. Rams (Thursday Night) — Perrault has faith the Vikings will cover and even have a chance to win outright. But Minnesota doesn’t do well with hype and the Rams are the real deal.

8:50: Miami Dolphins +7 at New England Patriots –The Dolphins may be 3-0, but bettors aren’t sold. Even at 1-2, the Patriots are a touchdown favorite. The guy suggest passing on this game — the Fins are better than we think and the Pats are a mess.

13:59: Houston Texans +1.5 at Indianapolis Colts —  Neither team is very good. If you have to take this game, take the points.

16:56: N.Y. Jets +7.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars — Running back Leonard Fournette is back and the Jags are a good team but there’s that hook.

19:28: Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 at Tennessee Titans — Bet the Eagles or walk away. This matchup screams teaser as there are not a lot of points expected.

24:50: Alabama Crimson Tide — Tease it up. If you can get the points, take the dog.

25:37: Cleveland Browns +3 at Oakland Raiders —  Both teams are evenly matched and there’s a strong case for both sides. Rookie QB Baker Mayfield is the wildcard. Will he fall flat in his first start or light up the Raiders defense?

30:09: San Francisco 49ers +10.5 at L.A. Chargers —   The Chargers shouldn’t be a 10.5-point anywhere. It’s an overreaction to QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s season-ending injury. The 49ers may not win, but the spread’s another story.

32:43: New Orleans Saints -3  at N.Y. Giants — The Giants are a bad football team and the Saints are electrified. Is this a trap?

34:56: Baltimore Ravens +3 at Pittsburgh Steelers — The Steelers are a popular public team and is perceived as better team, but the Ravens are a good team. This rivalry game will be highly entertaining.

36:27: Kansas City Chief -4.5 at Denver Broncos — QB Patrick Mahomes and the KC offense is the most staggering attack since the 18-0 Patriots. People are running to bet the Chief and books will need Broncos money.

40:00: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 at Chicago Bears — Will the Bucs start Jameis Winston or Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB? Don’t bet Tampa until we know who is starting. And if they start Winston, bet against ’em.

43:08: Detroit Lions +3 at Dallas Cowboys — The Cowboys offense is a disaster, but what kind of team is Detroit?

45:39: Which dog has better chance of covering, Cincinnati Bengals or Buffalo Bills?

46:57: Big totals this week because of penalties. Rules committee will meet next week to further discuss.

‘Pro Football Handle’: NFL Week 3 Breakdown, Really Bad Teams, And Big Totals

The post ‘Pro Football Handle’: NFL Week 3 Breakdown, Really Bad Teams, And Big Totals appeared first on SportsHandle.

On The Pro Football Handle, Las Vegas-based sports talk voice Matt Perrault and veteran bookmaker Robert Walker dive into select NFL games, line movements and bookmaker liabilities, plus greater sports betting topics and stories that may have nothing to do with football. Walker has seen it all behind the counter and Perrault the same from behind the microphone, so they’ll have you prepared for anything.

Most bettors got crushed in Week 2 as underdogs went 11-5 against the spread and seven dogs won outright. Woof. We have now a two-game sample and as usual, a handful of surprises. Two of the biggest early season surprises will meet on Monday Night Football — the desperate and winless Pittsburgh Steelers, favored by a point, against the undefeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

02:48: The guys discuss the FanDuel Sportsbook dispute over an $82,000 ticket written in error. Walker has been involved in this intimately over the years. What’s an obvious mistake?

16:12:  New York Jets +3 at Cleveland Browns: “The Browns are legitimate favorites. It’s hard to even say that.” Expecting an interesting, close game.

19:45: Indianapolis Colts +6.5 at Philadelphia Eagles: How many points is Carson Wentz worth (in his first week back) versus Nick Foles?

22:58: Cincinnati Bengals +3 at Carolina Panthers: The undefeated (2-0) Bengals take the show on the road. “Bet Carolina or walk away.” Carolina is not a public team.

25:45: How does a bookmaker handle really, really, ridiculously bad teams? Such as the Cardinals and Bills (+16.5 at Minnesota).

29:54: Oakland Raiders +3 at Miami Dolphins: Opened at 4, bet down to 3. People simply don’t believe in Miami as Oakland is coming off a game they had to find a way to lose.

32:10: San Francisco 49ers +6.5 at Kansas City Chiefs: Whooole lotta money looking at the over right now on a total out to 56.

36:27: Battle of Los Angeles: Chargers +7 at Rams: Walker believes this closes at 7.5 or 7 -120.
“As a bookmaker we’ll need the Chargers. That’ll be one of biggest decisions of the day.” Rams are the real deal on both sides, the new Super Bowl favorite. “The pros take 7.5 early, always.”

38:27: Detroit Lions +7 at New England Patriots: Belichick against a former assistant coach, also off a loss… so what can the Lions do here? Books will need Lions and under (52).

40:50: Pittsburgh Steelers -1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: FitzMagic! The winless Steelers are staring at 0-2-1 and a full-fledged tailspin.

Come Monday night, the books will need the under, Walker says.
