Report: Cowboys WR Michael Gallup to have knee surgery next week

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is scheduled to have surgery on the torn ACL in his left knee on Feb. 10, The Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday.

The procedure will be performed by Cowboys team doctor Dan Cooper.

Gallup, 25, injured his knee in Dallas’ 25-22 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Jan. 2. The 2018 third-round pick by the Cowboys finished the 2021 season with 35 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns.

In 55 career games (43 starts) for Dallas, Gallup has 193 catches for 2,902 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Colorado State product is a pending unrestricted free agent, but the Cowboys can still work out a deal with him by March 16.

Reports: Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (ACL) out for season

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup sustained a torn left ACL and will miss the remainder of the season, multiple media outlets reported Monday.

Per reports, an MRI on Monday confirmed the severity of his injury.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters after Sunday’s 25-22 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals that the team feared Gallup had torn his ACL.

Gallup, 25, twisted around to catch a 21-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter on Sunday. It was clear that he was in pain after the play, and he did not return.

The fourth-year receiver finished the game with three catches for 36 yards and the score, upping his season totals to 35 receptions, 445 yards and two touchdowns. He will be a free agent after the season.

Gallup sustained a calf injury in Week 1 and missed the first half of the season before returning in Week 10.

He has 193 catches for 2,902 yards and 15 touchdowns in 55 career games since being selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (ACL) feared out for season

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters that the team believes wide receiver Michael Gallup tore his left ACL Sunday and will be out for the rest of the season.

Gallup will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of his injury.

Report: Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) out 3-5 weeks

Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is expected to miss three-to-five weeks with a calf injury sustained in the season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Dallas Morning News reported Friday.

Gallup had four receptions for 36 yards in the Cowboys’ 31-29 setback on Thursday night.

Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb did the majority of the heavy lifting in the season opener. Cooper had 13 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while Lamb added seven receptions for 104 yards and a score.

Cedrick Wilson, who had three catches for 24 yards in the opener, likely will be in for additional playing time when the Cowboys (0-1) visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 19.

Gallup, 25, has 162 receptions for 2,493 yards and 13 touchdowns in 47 games since being selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
