Report: Bengals sign DL Mike Daniels to one-year deal

The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to re-sign veteran defensive lineman Mike Daniels to a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million, according to a report from NFL Network on Tuesday night.

Daniels, 31, is a nine-year NFL veteran who earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2017 with the Green Bay Packers. He spent last year with the Bengals, notching 17 tackles in 11 starts.

The Packers selected Daniels in the fourth round (No. 132 overall) out of Iowa in 2012. He played seven years with Green Bay before joining the Detroit Lions in 2019 and the Bengals in 2020.

In 122 career games (85 starts), Daniels has 30 sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He has 252 tackles.

Report: Bengals DT Mike Daniels (COVID-19) out Sunday

Cincinnati Bengals nose tackle Mike Daniels tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Baltimore Ravens, NFL Network reported Saturday.

The 31-year-old former Pro Bowler started 11 games and contributed 17 tackles this season.

Daniels has 30 sacks, three fumble recoveries and 252 tackles in 122 career games (85 starts) with the Green Bay Packers (2012-18), Detroit Lions (2019) and Bengals.

Green Bay drafted him in the fourth round in 2012 and he made the Pro Bowl in 2017.

Xavier Williams, 28, will likely make his third start of the season in Daniels’ absence.

Bengals rule out DL Atkins, Daniels for Week 2

Cincinnati defensive linemen Geno Atkins and Mike Daniels have been ruled out of the Bengals’ Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns.

Atkins (shoulder) missed Week 1 while Daniels played in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers but injured his groin.

The pair join safety Shawn Williams (calf) and guard Xavier Su’a-Filo (ankle, IR) who will be out vs. the Browns.

Placekicker Randy Bullock (calves) was a full participant in practice Tuesday and Wednesday.
