Missouri LB Bolton to skip senior season, prep for draft

Missouri and all-Southeastern Conference linebacker Nick Bolton announced Monday that he’s opting out of the Tigers’ bowl game — and his senior season — to begin prep for the 2021 NFL draft.

Bolton, a junior, is expected to be a first-round selection and is ESPN’s No. 3 prospect at inside linebacker.

“After prayer and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to forego my senior season, and will not be participating in the bowl game. I’m excited to chase my childhood dream and start preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft,” Bolton posted on Twitter.

Bolton leads the Tigers in tackles with 95, good for fifth in the SEC. He was first All-SEC last year and is expected to repeat that honor this year. He has five sacks and six passes defended.

Missouri (5-5) is scheduled to play Iowa in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.
