Vikings sign QB Josh Rosen to practice squad

Josh Rosen signed with the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad on Tuesday, filling a void created when fellow quarterback David Blough was signed to the Arizona Cardinals’ 53-man roster.

A former first-round draft pick, Rosen has played in 24 games (16 starts) while bouncing from the Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns.

He has a 3-13 record as a starter with 2,864 yards passing, 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

Blough was signed by the Cardinals with Kyler Murray injured and Colt McCoy less than 100 percent healthy.

The Cardinals drafted Rosen 10th overall in 2018, but he spent only one season in Arizona when the franchise used the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft to select Murray.

Browns re-sign QB Josh Rosen to practice squad

The Cleveland Browns signed quarterback Josh Rosen and defensive end Isaac Rochell to their practice squad on Thursday, just days after releasing them.

Rosen, a former first-round pick, competed in training camp with Joshua Dobbs to back up Jacoby Brissett and was released as the team cut its roster to 53 on Tuesday.

Rochell, in his sixth season, was dropped by the Browns on Wednesday to make room on the roster for another quarterback, Kellen Mond, who was claimed off waivers.

The Browns’ practice squad is now full at 14 players.

Cleveland is the fifth team for the 25-year-old Rosen, who has thrown for 2,864 yards with 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in 24 career games (16 starts). He is 3-13 as a starter after being selected No. 10 overall in the 2018 draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

Rochell, 27, initially was a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 and spent four seasons there before moving to the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. He has 9.5 sacks and 91 tackles in 63 career games (nine starts).
