Rams G Kevin Dotson (ankle) cleared to face Titans

The Los Angeles Rams will get one of their two starting guards back Sunday, after right guard Kevin Dotson was designated as available to play against the Tennessee Titans.

Dotson and starting left guard Steve Avila both departed last Sunday’s season-opening victory over the Houston Texans with sprained ankles and had been ruled week-to-week following the game.

While Dotson was limited in practice Thursday, Avila has not practiced this week and is considered doubtful for Sunday, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fellow offensive lineman Rob Havenstein has returned to practice this week as he recovers from his own ankle injury.

Also doubtful for Sunday is tight end Colby Parkinson, who came away with a shoulder injury Sunday.

Dotson, 28, is in his third season with the Rams after three with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has started in 61 of the 70 NFL games he has played in his career.

Avila, 25, is in his third season with the Rams, and has started all 28 games of his career.

Rams open practice window for Steve Avila, Jonah Jackson

The Los Angeles Rams’ revolving door on the offensive line had more movement Thursday as the team opened the practice window for starters Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson.

There is a possibility that both will be activated from injured reserve and available for Monday night’s home game against the Miami Dolphins. The news comes just as tackle Rob Havenstein was ruled out for Monday with an ankle injury.

The Rams also activated offensive lineman Joe Noteboom (ankle) from injured reserve Tuesday.

Avila, 25, played in the season-opening loss to the Detroit Lions and has been out ever since with a knee injury. Jackson, 27, agreed to a three-year, $51 million deal with Los Angeles in the offseason, but has been out since Week 3 with a shoulder injury.

Despite the upheaval on the line, the Rams’ offense has continued to improve with the team currently on a three-game winning streak after a 26-20 overtime victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Center Beaux Limmer, a rookie out of Arkansas, has blossomed over the first half of the season.

Los Angeles opened the season 1-4 while dealing with a number of injuries, including games missed by wide receivers Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle).

The Rams have averaged 25.3 points over its last three games after averaging 18.8 points in the first five contests.

Report: Rams starting LG Steve Avila has MCL sprain

Los Angeles Rams starting left guard Steve Avila is dealing with an MCL sprain, NFL Network reported Monday.

Avila left Sunday night’s overtime loss at Detroit with a knee injury in the second quarter and did not return.

Avila, 24, will have an MRI and further testing Monday to determine the severity of the injury, per the report.

He has started all 18 games since Los Angeles drafted him in the second round in 2023.

The Rams shifted Jonah Jackson to left guard and inserted rookie Beaux Limmer at center after Avila departed during the 26-20 loss to the Lions.
