Browns’ Wyatt Teller facing IR; Myles Garrett day-to-day

Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl guard Wyatt Teller is facing a possible stint on injured reserve with a knee injury while All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett is considered day-to -day with a foot injury.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Monday the team is awaiting results from an MRI on Teller’s injury, sustained in Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants. Either way, he will miss multiple weeks, Stefanski said. Teller was injured in the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

Stefanski said Garrett also underwent an MRI.

Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and RT James Hudson III also exited in the third quarter of the loss, but Stefanski did not provide updates on them.

The Browns moved Joel Bitonio to LT from left guard and Ethan Pocic from center to left guard, with Nick Harris coming in at center to finish the game. Rookie Zak Zinter filled in for Teller at RG, while Dawand Jones replaced Hudson at RT.

Garrett, 28, has two sacks and two forced fumbles this season. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year and five-time Pro Bowler has 90.5 sacks for his career.

Teller, 29, has started 78 of 86 games he’s played in for the Browns and Buffalo Bills (2018), making three straight Pro Bowl appearances from 2021-23.

The Browns (1-2) play the first of three straight road games on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders (1-2).

Browns LT Jedrick Wills Jr., RB Jerome Ford back at practice

Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., running back Jerome Ford and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin returned to practice Friday.

Wills (foot), Ford (ankle) and Goodwin (back) all missed practices Wednesday and Thursday as the Browns (4-2) prepare to visit the Seattle Seahawks (4-2) on Sunday.

Wills, 24, has started all six games this season. He has made 51 starts since the Browns drafted him 10th overall in 2020.

Ford, 23, has started three of his six games in 2023, rushing for 344 yards and two TDs and catching 14 passes for 104 yards and two scores. He was Cleveland’s fifth-round pick in 2022.

Goodwin, 32, has three catches on nine targets for 10 yards and has rushed three times for 38 yards in six games. He has 190 receptions for 3,033 yards and 18 touchdowns in 108 games (44 starts) with five teams since 2013.

Roundup: Broncos pick up 5th year on WR Jerry Jeudy

The Denver Broncos picked up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Jerry Jeudy on Monday.

Jeudy, 24, is set to make $12.987 million in 2024.

Jeudy has 157 catches for 2,295 yards and nine touchdowns in 41 games (33 starts) since the Broncos selected him No. 15 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The deadline to pick up fifth-year options is Tuesday.

–The Cleveland Browns picked up the fifth-year option on starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.

Wills, 23, will make $14.175 million in the 2024 season.

He has started all 45 games he’s played in since the Browns selected him No. 10 overall in the 2020 draft.

–The Carolina Panthers picked up the option on defensive tackle Derrick Brown. He’ll make $13.1 million in 2024.

Brown, 25, has 142 tackles — including 21 for loss — to go with six sacks and 15 passes defensed in 49 games (46 starts) for Carolina. The Panthers selected him No. 7 overall in the 2020 draft.

–The New Orleans Saints declined the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz. He has started 40 of 46 games since being selected No. 24 overall in the 2020 draft.

–The Jacksonville Jaguars are declining the fifth year on edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson. He has just three sacks in 40 games (11 starts) since being selected No. 20 overall in 2020.
