Dave Ball's return to the Tennessee Titans could soon become a reality.

Ball's representatives have been in contact with the Titans and working on a new deal, the veteran defensive end told TitanInsider.com.

“We've been negotiating with the Titans off and on and working on it,” said Ball, who first joined the Titans in 2008 as a street free agent after being out of the NFL in 2007.

Since that time, Ball has been a mainstay in Tennessee's defensive end rotation and has posted 15.5 sacks, including seven in 2010. Ball said he was hopeful a new deal could be in place by the time off-season work begins April 16.
