The Washington Redskins placed rookie linebacker Trent Murphy on injured reserve with a broken hand.
The Redkins signed offensive guard Rishaw Johnson off the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.
Murphy started eight game and had 32 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.
Johnson has played for the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboy, Green Bay Packers and Giants.
The Redskins signed wide receiver Colin Lockett to their practice squad.
