The Minnesota Vikings put veteran punter Nick Harris through a tryout earlier this week and he could be on speed dial if a hamstring injury flares up for Chris Kluwe.
Kluwe’s hamstring was injured in last Sunday’s loss at Kansas City. He sat out practices on Wednesday and Thursday but is hopeful to get in work today, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
“We're taking the amputation option off the table," Kluwe joked. "We're still considering it though.
"I'll go out and punt (today) just to make sure I can. At this point, it feels fine. I'll definitely be ready to go. ... There might be some discomfort, but it's football. It's not tiddlywinks. So play through it."
If Kluwe struggles, look for Harris to be the replacement for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
