The Minnesota Vikings have retained cornerback and punt returner Marcus Sherels, the team announced.
Sherels started four games last season and set a franchise single-season record with a 15.2 punt return average.
He ran back a punt 86 yards for a touchdown against the New York Giants.
He had an interception in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, picking off former Super Bowl Most Valuable Player quarterback Joe Flacco.
Sherels played collegiately at Minnesota and went undrafted.
