The Cleveland Browns have signed free agent offensive Artis Hicks, who spent last season with the Washington Redskins.

Hicks, a veteran of nine NFL seasons, has also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings in his career.

Hicks played right guard for the Redskins last season, making 10 starts. Earlier in his career, he was primarily a tackle.

Hicks has played in 110 regular-season games, including 68 starts in his career. He also has played in seven playoff games.

To make room on the roster, the Browns waived offensive lineman Pat Murray.
