Indianapolis Colts free agent linebacker Phillip Wheeler had a visit scheduled with the Oakland Raiders, according to the Contra Costa Times.
Wheeler tweeted out Thursday that he was on his way to Oakland, where the Raiders need a strong side linebacker to replace Kamerion Wimbley, whom they released for salary cap purposes.
Wheeler was one of the bright spots for the woeful Indianapolis Colts last season, with 84 tackles. He is considering a return to Indy as well, plus has also visited with the Miami Dolphins.
