Buccaneers corner C.J. Wilson suffers severe hand injury in fireworks accident

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson suffered a severe hand injury in a fireworks accident on July 4. Wilson reportedly lost two fingers in the fireworks accident. The injury could affect his future in the NFL. “It is our understanding that the injury occurred to one of his hands and our primary concern at this moment is for his long-term health,’’ the Buccaneers said in a statement. “We have been in contact with C.J. and are continuing to monitor the situation.” Wilson played in two games last season and had four tackles. He signed a two-year, $1.08 million last year. Wilson could be placed on the non-football injury list. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
