Cowboys rookie Maliek Collins breaks foot, to have surgery
Dallas Cowboys third-round defensive tackle Maliek Collins will miss the next 10 to 12 weeks as he recovers from surgery to repair a broken right foot he suffered last week during the first week of organized team activities at Valley Ranch.
The Cowboys drafted Collins out of Nebraska and expected him to immediately compete for a starting defensive tackle job. He's now expected to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Collins isn't expected to be able to practice until late in training camp or early in the 2016 season.
The Cowboys were already thin along their defensive line, with ends Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence each out the first four games of the season due to NFL suspensions.
