Lions running back Ameer Abdullah had shoulder surgery

Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah had shoulder surgery in January and is likely out until training camp. He had a torn labrum repaired. Abdullah is the projected starter. He led the Lions with 597 yards last season after being drafted in the second round out of Nebraska. He had 1,077 kick return yards and caught 25 passes.
