Former CFL standout and New Orleans Saints wide receiver and kick returner Chris Williams has worked out for the Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals, according to league sources. Last year for the Chicago Bears, he returned a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown. He was waived-injured on Dec. 3, though, after playing seven games for the Bears. Wiliams has previous stints with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns after going undrafted out of New Mexico State in 2009. In the CFL in 2012 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, he had 17 touchdowns on 11 touchdown catches, five punt returns for scores and another on a missed field goal returns, setting a franchise record for touchdowns and a CFL record for most return touchdowns in a single season. The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder caught 70 passes for 1,064 yards and six touchdowns in 2011 and was named the CFL's top rookie. In 2012, he caught 82 passes for 1,298 yards and 11 touchdowns. Williams ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds at the NFL scouting combine in 2009. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds had a 39-inch vertical leap later that year.
