Source: Lions work out Joe Kruger at tight end

The Detroit Lions worked out former San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Joe Kruger today at tight end, according to a source. Kruger is a 6-foot-6, 290-pound former Eagles seventh-round pick. He spent his first NFL season on injured reserve. He's the younger brother of Cleveland Browns outside linebacker Paul Kruger and played collegiately at Utah. He appeared in 37 games and recorded 69 tackles, nine sacks, 14 tackles for loss and an interception. The Lions also worked out former Mississippi State tight end Darion Hutcherson. Neither player was immediately signed to a contract. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
