Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mario Alford , one of the fastest players in the NFL draft, visited and worked out privately for the Atlanta Falcons, according to a source.
Alford wowed NFL scouts with a 4.27 in the 40-yard dash at the Mountaineers' Pro Day workout, improving upon his 4.43 at the NFL scouting combine.
NFL teams have been privately working Alford out as a slot wide receiver after he primarily played outside at West Virginia working in tandem with Kevin White.
Alford's acceleration and explosiveness is evident in his highlight video.
Alford had a 34-inch vertical leap at the combine where he bench pressed 225 pounds 13 times.
Alford led the Big 12 in receiving touchdowns last season. He caught 65 passes for 945 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Alford caught 27 passes for 552 yards and two touchdowns as a junior.
Alford is a former running back at Georgia  Military College where he rushed for 541 yards and six touchdowns.
Now, he's completing his conversion to wide receiver with the arrow pointing up for him as the NFL draft approaches.
