Vikings cut Lawrence Jackson

The Minnesota Vikings have released former Seattle Seahawks first-round defensive end Lawrence Jackson, cuting ties with the former USC standout.

Jackson, who has a previous stint with the Detroit Lions, has 19 1/2 career sacks in five NFL seasons.

Several other players lost their roster spots today in Minnesota.

The cuts included wide receivers LaMark Brown, Chris Summers and Erik Highsmith, offensive guard Tyler Holmes, defensive end Marquis Jackson, linebacker Stanford Keglar, defensive backs Greg McCoy and Roderick Williams, running backs Bradley Randle and Jerodis Williams, quarterback James Vandenberg and center Camden Wentz.
