Colts sign Corey Lynch, promote Josh McNary

In 2012 with the Chargers, Lynch saw action in all 16 games for the third consecutive season and had career highs with 47 tackles and two interceptions to go along with eight special teams tackles.

The Colts promoted inside linebacker Josh McNary from the practice squad to the active roster. The team also waived tight end Justice Cunningham and wide receiver David Reed and placed safety Delano Howell on injured reserve.

Cunningham was selected by the Colts in the seventh round.

Reed was acquired by the Colts in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens in August. He played in seven games this season and returned 24 kickoffs for 590 yards (24.6 average). For his career, Reed has returned 63 kickoffs for 1,740 yards (27.6 average) and one touchdown in 36 games played.

Howell was originally signed by the Colts from the Buffalo Bills practice squad last year In 2013, he appeared in six games, making three starts and recording 24 tackles (14 solo) and two passes defensed. He also recovered a blocked field goal and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown against Seattle.
