Saints send Bobby McCray packing

Bobby McCray lined up as the starting left end for the New Orleans Saints opposite Will Smith when the New Orleans Saints opened up minicamp earlier this month.

Now, McCray is an ex-Saint. New Orleans released the veteran lineman today and also announced that cornerback Glenn Sharpe has been waived.

McCray’s demise probably has a good deal to do with the Saints’ satisfaction in Alex Brown, the veteran they signed after the Chicago Bears released him. The Saints also have Jimmy Wilkerson, who is working his way back from knee surgery, and the determination was made that McCray is no longer needed.

McCray started 32 games over the last two seasons for the Saints and made 7
