40 times from USC pro day

The University of Southern California hosted its annual pro day workout on Wednesday outdoors under cloudy skies.

While the NFP is still working on obtaining the complete results from the event, here are some of the notable 40 times from yesterday’s workout, according to a league source.

Offensive tackle Charles Brown (No. 3 ranked OT by the NFP) ran a 5.26. Brown did not run the 40-yard-dash at the combine.

Defensive end Everson Griffen (No. 6 ranked DE by the NFP) ran a 4.58, an improvement on the 4.7 he ran at the combine.

Safety Will Harris (No. 26 ranked SS by the NFP) ran a 4.59. Harris wasn’t invited to the combine, but a report from the Orange County Register says the safety put up 36 reps on the bench yesterday. That total would be eight better than any safety who worked out in Indianapolis.

Running back Stafon Johnson (No. 21 ranked RB by the NFP) ran a 4.64, which is down from the 4.69 he ran at the combine.

Cornerback Kevin Thomas (No. 24 ranked CB by the NFP) ran a 4.42, which is down from the 4.44 he ran at the combine.

Safety Taylor Mays (4.31), tight end Anthony McCoy (4.73), running back Joe McKnight (4.45) and wide receiver Damian Williams (4.55) all chose to stand on their 40 times from the combine.
