Green Bay cornerback Brandon Underwood pleaded not guilty earlier today to a charge of disorderly conduct, the result of an argument with his estranged wife following the Packers championship ring ceremony last month.

Underwood allegedly tore a pendant that was given to players’ wives off the neck of Brandie Underwood following the ceremony at Lambeau Field. The couple has been reported to be in the process of divorcing.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 13 with the trial set to begin Sept. 26, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The misdemeanor charge could carry with it a sentence of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Some wonder if Underwood will be a Packer much longer. He had the well publicized incident last summer in Wisconsin with a pair of hookers.

“That’s (the Packers’) decision,” Underwood told the newspaper. “All I can do is be me. God always has a plan and you don’t worry about things you can’t control. I can’t stay in the past, I’ve got to keep moving forward.”

Our guess is Underwood might have crossed the line this time for the club. We’ll see.
