Happy Sunday. Next week we’ll get back to the Sunday Post, but for the first Sunday of free agency, let’s stay focused on player movement.

I fully expect another team to jump into the Brandon Marshall sweepstakes at some point this week. Not certain which team, but it appears Marshall has more than one team interested in his services. I do know this: The Denver Broncos won’t negotiate a trade for Marshall. Either a team is prepared to pay a first-rounder or move along. Denver will not take calls on Marshall; it’s either an offer sheet or he plays in Denver next season. If Seattle really wants Marshall, it will take the sixth pick in the draft….

The trade of Kerry Rhodes to the Cards is interesting from the standpoint it pairs him with Adrian Wilson. Wilson is a heavy hitter and Rhodes is a light hitter, or no-hitter at all, and Rhodes lacks the range of Antrel Rolle. The Cards will inherit a seventh day of the league year $2-million roster bonus that was guaranteed for injury in Rhodes’ contract. Dumping Rhodes will save the Jets more than $4 million….

Expect the Bears to start reducing player costs and release players this week, starting with tight end Desmond Clark, whom they’ve tried to trade without success so far….

I know that Karlos Dansby had four suits packed when he took his first trip to Miami and expressed a desire to make all his visits. However, my sources tell me he didn’t have four teams to visit. In fact, I’m told the Dolphins were the only team with a sincere interest….

Defensive end Jason Babin of the Eagles is starting to make some visits, but keep in mind, the Eagles have the first right of refusal in the event he signs with another team. The Eagles negotiated that right when he signed last fall, which was a very smart move….

I would think that Chargers third-string quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is going to receive strong action this restricted period. Teams that need a quarterback and liked Whitehurst coming out of college would be able to secure him for only a third-round pick. Same can be said for Troy Smith of the Ravens, whose cost is only a fifth-round pick. Both of these players are farther ahead than anyone coming out in the draft in terms of understanding the NFL….

The re-signing of Jon Jansen by the Lions means they want someone to keep pushing Gosder Cherilus, who is not a lock to be the starter in 2010. This will be a critical year for him to become a legitimate NFL starter….

I wonder why no teams have made a move on corners Ellis Hobbs or Sheldon Brown of the Eagles. Hobbs has a first-round tender on him but could be had for less. Once Leigh Bodden signs, I expect the trade market for these corners to heat up….

I keep hearing Pittsburgh DS Ryan Clark has some interest from teams but doesn’t have a great offer on the table….

I don’t expect Aaron Kampman to help the Jags right away, but as he heals from knee injury, his impact might be felt in the second half of the season….

Pittsburgh’s Limas Sweed doesn’t have a future with the Steelers, who have been very disappointed in his overall toughness and willingness to do the things necessary to be a pro.
