Bryan Bulaga proves his arms are plenty long enough

If the football thing doesn’t work out for Bryan Bulaga, there is always his budding career as a designated hitter that he could consider.

Bulaga stepped to the plate Saturday at Miller Park and put on quite a display during batting practice before the Milwaukee Brewers hosted the Philadelphia Phillies. Enough of a show that he would have given Bernie the Brewer one hell of a workout if the mascot went down his slide for pregame taters.

Bulaga, the first-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers from Iowa, launched 14 home runs in BP, putting him in a class with the slugging first baseman in town, Prince Fielder. The Associated press reported that several were of the tape measure variety into the second deck. Hey, so much for his arms being too short, right?

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and right tackle Mark Tauscher combined for three home runs. Guess we know who will be hitting cleanup if the Packers get mixed up in a charity softball game.
