Cardinals will consider Karlos Dansby

The Arizona Cardinals will be without inside linebacker Daryl Washington for the first four games this season because of a drug suspension and his availability beyond that is somewhat in question.

So, the team is going to at least consider a player it knows well. Karlos Dansby is scheduled to visit the Cardinals on Wednesday, according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 in Phoenix.

Washington was accused of domestic violence in Phoenix. The mother of one of his children claims he broke her collarbone in a dispute.

Dansby, 31, spent the previous three seasons with the Miami Dolphins after beginning his career with six years in Arizona. Dansby, who signed a $42.5 million, five-year contract with the Dolphins in 2010, was expendable after Miami signed inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe away from the Baltimore Ravens.

Dansby has been a model of durability in his career, missing only three games over the previous six seasons. He made 134 tackles for the Dolphins last season with nine passes defended.
