Cardinals work to keep unbeaten streak going

The most improbable of 4-0 teams tries to make it 5-0 tonight when the Arizona Cardinals travel to St. Louis to face a Rams team coming off an uplifting victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

The challenge in a short week will be for the Cardinals to find a way to keep their winning streak going despite an offense that seems punchless at times. It’s a young team that is certainly not accustomed to the bright lights of prime time.

Arizona is 4-0 for the first time since 1974 and according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic this is the first time the club has had a winning record after four games since it relocated to Phoenix. Consider that for a minute because the club left St. Louis for Phoenix in 1988.

The Cardinals have won seven consecutive games vs. the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome but St. Louis (2-2) has a rebuilding project of its own going on. The Cardinals must handle the short week.

It’s tough, there’s no question,” Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said, according to Somers. “You’ve really got to work hard on the mental aspect of it and just hope you recover enough physically that you’re ready to go.”
