Chiefs place A.J. Jenkins on injured reserve

The Kansas City Chiefs placed wide receiver A.J.Jenkins on injured reserve.

Jenkins is out for the season witth a shoulder injury.

The former San Francisco 49ers first-round draft pick caught nine passes for 93 yards this season.

Jenkins' season ends as the Chiefs signed former Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant.

Avant has caught 21 passes for 201 yards this season.
