Former NFL TE Todd Christensen dies at 57

Former NFL tight end Todd Christensen died at the age of 57, according to a report from the Salt Lake Tribune.

Christensen died in a Utah hospital after battling liver disease and other illnesses. He was undergoing surgery when he died.

Christensen played college football at BYU and spent the majority of his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders. As a pro, Christensen was named to the Pro Bowl five times and was the member of two Super Bowl champion teams.

He was drafted by the Cowboys in 1978. After his football career, Christensen ventured into broadcasting, with stints with NBC and the Moutain West Sports Network.
