Giants scratch Adam Jennings

In their quest to sort out the return game, the New York Giants have crossed one name off the list.

Veteran returner Adam Jennings has been cut loose, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. Taking his place on the roster is Nyan Boateng, an undrafted free agent who was at the team’s rookie minicamp in May. The Cal product began his college career at Florida before transferring.

The Giants are searching for options to replace return man Domenik Hixon, who will miss the season recovering from a torn ACL.

Jennings appeared in one game last season with the Detroit Lions after playing seven games each with the Lions and Atlanta Falcons in 2008.
