Holmgren won't quit on Browns

Mike Holmgren's future with the Cleveland Browns might not look rosy, given the purchase of the team by Jim Haslam.

But the Browns president tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer he isn't about to just walk away from his current position.

I've never quit anything in my life," said Holmgren, who is in the third year of a five-year deal with the Browns.

As for fulfililng that five-year deal, Holmgren said, "I hope so. That's what my plan is."

Speculation is that former Eagles president Joe Banner will become a higher-up in the Browns organization once Haslam sets things up the way he wants them, and that could leave Holmgren's future up in the air.
