Jaguars open to trading down from No. 2
New Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell indicated to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that he is open to trading down with the No. 2 pick in the draft, though there are a couple of players he likes in that spot.
The Jaguars, woeful at 2-14 last season, are rebuilding and have plenty of holes to fill. So dealing the second pick to some team that has its eye on a prospect like Geno Smith, Luke Joeckel or whoever might be on the board with a high grade, could net the Jags several picks in return to begin rebuilding with.
"We're ready to pick," Caldwell said. "So, we know that there's 1-2 players there that we really like, so we feel good about that. But we're open to all options on that aspect, too."
