Johnny Jolly still jailed in Houston on drug charges

Troubled Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly remains in a Houston jail after his bid for bond was denied by a Harris County, Texas, judge.

Jolly will make an initial court appearance on Wednesday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, after he was allegedly found to be in possession of 600 grams of codeine last week. It’s the second time since 2008 Houston police have arrested Jolly and charged him with possession of the drug.

Per the report, Donna Hawkins of the Harris County district attorney’s office said that a new charge vs. Jolly will “likely” prove to be a violation of a pretrial diversion agreement Jolly made following his previous arrest. That could lead to significant jail time for Jolly no matter what happens with his latest case.

Jolly, 28, is currently suspended by the NFL.
