Kolb out, Vick in for Week 9

Kevin Kolb’s second stint as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles has come to an end.

After losing 37-19 at Tennessee on Sunday, Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that Michael Vick will step back under center as the starter in Philadelphia when the Birds come off the bye in Week 9 to play the Indianapolis Colts.

Kolb had rattled off two straight victories for the Eagles, but a three-turnover performance with a QB rating of 56.9 (26/48, 231 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 1 lost fumble) was enough to seal his fate and put Vick back in the driver’s seat.

For those of you scoring at home, the Eagles have now switched quarterbacks three times this season.

And in case you missed it, despite not playing at all in Sunday’s loss, Vick still managed to pick up a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct (sideline interference) during the first quarter.

So will Vick remain the starter for the duration of the season? Your guess is as good as ours.
