Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is pleased with the resiliency that quarterback Christian Ponder has displayed even if his performances the last two weeks have been very uneven.

Ponder struggled Thursday night in a 36-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Metrodome. He’s had difficulty making plays downfield and the pass protection struggled.

“What I like is how resilient he's been,” Frazier said, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “The fact he's been able to stand in there. He's taken a couple of shots. He's also delivered some big plays for us. And that is what's been impressive for me. I know he's going to have some ups and downs because of where he is at this stage of his career. But to see him bounce back the way I expect him to bounce back, that's what has been impressive.”

Frazier puts the pressure to perform better on the entire offense, not just the second-year quarterback.

“We have to do a better job around him,” Frazier said. “There are some things we can do offensively to help him, and we have to work on that in these days we have prior to playing Seattle (Sunday, Nov. 4). And if we get that done, we'll see an improvement in his play, as well.”
