Manti Te'o out this week with sprained foot

San Diego Chargers rookie middle linebacker Manti Te'o is out this week with a sprained right foot and won't play against the Chicago Bears on Thursday.

Te'o is in a walking boot, according to the Associated Press.

"Manti has a foot sprain and he will be out this week and I will give you any further updates as the week goes on, or next week," Chargers coach Mike McCoy told reporters. "But he will be out for the week."

McCoy declined to elaborate on the cause of the injury, which occurred against the Seattle Seahawks.

"He has a foot sprain," McCoy said. "I will say that and move on from there."
